I agree with JJ. I have a 52" 1080p tv and a good surround sound system. I cant imagine ever going back. I have an upscaling dvd player which makes standard dvds look very good but not even close to a bluray movie at 1080p. As far as gaming aspect goes, any PC gamer has dealt with resolutions for a lot longer than hi-def has been around in tvs and they should know that the difference between 720p and 1080p is substantial in a game. 480i/p is just an eye sore, literally. On a big screen, the blur from that low resolution starts to hurt my eyes after a while.
I did a search online and Sony did take a stance against porn like I said and early on no one would print blu-ray porn for fear of having their licences taken away but apparently Sony is now turning a blind eye allowing them to do it but not assisting in any way. Maybe they learned from the betamax days that people actually watch porn, a lot of porn. I'm sure the change in heart is because of the format war.
Well, no high def porn in our future. HD-DVD is an open standard, unlike Blu-ray. Sony already said they will not allow porn on blu-ray just like they did with betamax(which many believe is a major contribution to its failure). Not that I really care about the porn aspect, but I just dont like Sony being able to say what can be put out in hi-def and what can't.
You must also know then that bandwidth doesn't mean much in gaming right? The amount of bandwidth used in a game isn't close to your maximum. It's all about the ping! I'm a cheap dsl user who loves his 10-20 ping in TF2(PC version, i dont know if the console version tells ping but probably not). It's all about the fiberoptic baby! Pings keep getting better(except in Gears of War, what the hell is up with that?) And my cheap dsl is only 3 Mbps, so what is your super amazing connection? 5 Mbps? 10 Mbps tops? For how much more? triple, quadruple the cost? and you dont even get a lower ping
Being an atheist(strong atheist at least and if you dont know the difference, dont jump into the conversation) is as stupid as anything. It's hard to be a man of science, using logic to come up with your theories, and then totally discard another theory because of lack of evidence. That's not logical. And no, science doesn't prove their is no god. It is impossible to prove that God does or does not exist. If you're a weak atheist, this may or may not apply. There are more beliefs than just 'there is NO god' in atheism. And that concludes my rant.
No, the wireless controller with play&charge kit wouldn't work or they wouldn't have said wireless controller only. There was another device previously that required a wired controller and that was the keyboard and mouse adapater.
It sounds like a good idea but they're not fools. I guarantee they've looked into such an obvious alternative and I'm sure they have a good reason for not using it. It sounds like Microsoft has the 3rd party peripheral makers backed into a corner and it's messed up. I always bought 1st party controls for the primary controllers, but to not be able to have any other wireless peripherals is messed up and a step backwards this generation..
Wow, using the arrow keys on the keyboard? I know that was default settings back in the days of quake 1 and earlier but that was outdated as far back as duke nukem 3d. Games have way too many actions that need to be mapped to easily accessible buttons these days. You cannot speak on behalf of the k/m people:)
Also, in the article it talks of having to click through radial menus on the pc. That sounds like a barrier thrown in to slow down the PC users but if its like most games, you can map pretty much everything to any button. They may not allow this due to balancing but if they do, i dont see any advantage with the controller. I'll try it both ways regardless even though I know I aim faster with a mouse. it definately has me curious.
