Ain't it Weeta? When I was learning latin in highschool I remember having to pronounce the v's like w's. I like Vita, by the way, I just feel it doesn't go well with this particular product. Not only is it obviously a machine, the aesthetic, i'd dare say, contends with with the traditional symbolism of life.
@(Unverified) The people who think he's crazy or an idiot, do any of you consider taking a statement at face value is a bad idea? Maybe he hasn't upgraded his computer for many years. Maybe this is his first computer. Maybe the guy isn't going to just play BF3 on it then chuck it into a garbage can.
This one game has him building a pc that could last him for about five years. I'd like to assume he isn't buying a new PC for every major game release. I'm starting to believe everybody on the internet is trolling...
While I agree that the graphics weren't stellar, I feel like they did a few things right in the nextgen (currentgen?) installments.
I keep bringing up Demon's Souls on this page because the two games are very similar and people really took to it, unlike Armored Core. In DS, the graphics weren't pretty either but in both games they did a lot with the environments. Boletaria Castle wasn't great looking but still, that you could see the entire thing and travel throughout it was something. The same thing AC4/FA, the levels had interesting architecture and a sense of scale that, at least to me, was a bit overwhelming at first. The multiplayer levels, in particular, were huge, if sparse.
The Cores themselves I thought looked great and considering the parts all fit toghether without looking weird; that alone was good.
You have to dig a little deep and translate some pages, but like the previous poster stated, it's shaping up to be a more tactical game, a la Chromehounds. Did you know in multiplayer there's going to be an operator on each team? And each officially made team is supposed to have a piece territory to defend and upgrade.
As for the mechs themselves, the artwork shows a change in direction for them. they're smaller, but beefier with a lower center of gravity making them look like tanks with arms rather than humanesque collosi. Of course, this is just speculation, but the change in the core's size is enough to change the way the game plays out.
I beat most of it with assault rifles and perhaps one small missle launcher across a shoulder, as I usually do. Maybe a dual bazooka setup on particularly frustrating missions, but not too often.
As to the enemies being overpowered, this game is basically Demon's Souls before Demon's Souls. They put challenge into the game and they're brutal, unlike most games today. But I think that when you realize how much damage you're capable of, just like in Demon's Souls, you sort of take pity on the a.i. At least, I do.
I get a little sad whenever I read Armored Core news. I mean, there's always going to be some people shaking their heads in every article but with AC there are too few of us to defend the series. So it seems like a single page of negativity.
I, for one, am looking forward to V. The screenshots and the trickles of info that have come out show they've made some great changes.
Just remember though, that if you guys like Demon's Souls the same company makes Armored Core. I think the series share some parallels; complaints in particular. There's supposed to be a live stream event on May 13th so if you're interested maybe you could check that out.
@thund3rstruck Dude, it's better to just not comment on gaming sites. Not that you should hide your opinion, but gamers always, nearly always, take a differing opinion the wrong way and blow a simple statement out of proportion.
I also concur with your sentiments- Ocarina of time was good but it isn't my "best game of all time". Somebody say up there that it's usually always on someone's top five "greatest games of all time" list, but me, I only seem to notice that from gaming website and magazine articles. this doesn't mean Ocarina of time isn't frequently on this list, but OoT isn't on *everyone's list*.
Finally, I usually don't like to say anything to a rabid fanbase, but I honestly don't see the appeal in buying yet another copy of OoT. I've been playing some version or other at either my own or a friend's house for, what, a decade now? Now, I don't expect to sway anyone into not buying the game or a 3DS; i'm not arguing that. But really, don't any of you think it's a bit silly to buy the same handful of "classic" titles for every nintendo system that releases? (Before someone pipes up calling me an idiot for generalizing: I know not everyone has multiple working copies of old games. But we all know people do exist that buy the same games over and over. It's more directed at them.)
