Verizon iPhone hands-on: better calls, slower data, the iPhone experience you know and love

Feb 9th 2011 12:45PM (TUAW.com)
In my tests, I've noticed that the Verizon network in my area has MUCH lower (about half) latency than the AT&T network, so it feels faster even though the AT&T network beats it in outright speed.

SNL: Google phone to challenge iPhone by "making calls"

Sorry, but I have to clear up a few of the inaccuracies of your post.

1) VZW uses CDMA/EV-DO. The iPhone Supports GSM/WCDMA (HSPA).

3) AT&T uses 850/1900. They do own some AWS (2100/1700) spectrum, but they have not deployed service in those bands.

MMS and tethering functional on some AT&T iPhone 3Gs running 3.0?

Jun 12th 2009 6:13PM (Engadget Mobile)
I can send in the exact same screenshots if you like. But MMS will only work for me if I SIM swap to another, officially MMS capable phone, then back to my iPhone running 3.0, then it'll stop working after a few hrs. Tethering is 100% of the time though.
