You know that bit at the bend of the prologue in Oblivion, where you choose your class? A guard says something like "from what I've seen you're an experienced..." and whatever class best fits your play style up to that point. Last time I played it was suggested I was a bard. It's been a while since I've sworn so much at a fictional character.

You're a bit out of date regarding skirmish - CF and ES work together, and have done for about 18months, and Barrage and Flanking are instant casts now making them pretty decent skills. Skirmish remains the dueling/soloing tree however, with very little to add in warbands or scenario groups (but really, really easymode for one-v-one versus casters).

Scouts fairly solid at high levels - the AP issues with NQ never really goes away, but I like that it keep the SW from spamming the same key too often. Stacking crit (prehaps with Bullseye) and Rep-Strikes makes it fairly managable.

As a few commenters above have already said the ‘infinite AP’ bug (a bit of an over simplification) was not there from launch but arrived in 1.3.1, deployed in August). As the article goes on to mention there was a further AP bug, affecting regeneration during high lag situations that had been going on since launch (and it was pretty annoying, but not game breaking like the newer issue).

HV is doable in the time limit but it takes practice - I (40/66 SW) ran it 4 times last night (four of us still needed the cloak), no luck on the first 3 times, but getting closer each time and finished with 8 minutes to spare on the final run, despite a wipe halfway through the final boss (my bad - clicked the wrong spirit animal and insta-killed us all). Party was IB/WH/WH/SW/AM/AM – one 37 AM rest 40s). Biggest issue with a few PUGs I tried to run with earlier in the day is the live event has brought out a lot of tanks who seem to of never run a dungeon before, once I got in a group with a tank I know well and have been playing with for months it was easy enough.

I've been enjoying this series - their really hasn't been a lot of coverage of WAR that reflects my personal experiences, on Karak Norn (maybe things are that different in the USA), but this is closer than most even though you’re at a lower tier of gear/RR. A good guild is good to find if you need to get gear from city dungeons and even LV now, as most of the hardcore have moved beyond this level.

Not sure how trusted that list can be - it has Karak Hirn way above Karak Norn when Hirn was merged into Norn 6 months ago.

Man, I didn't even realise rock-star where on Steam. If it proves, that this is because in the UK they are not, then wrath will ensue. Otherwise purchases will occur.

If this price (~250 GBP) was available in the UK, then I'd be tempted. It would put in the realm of the Impulse Buy. As it it, I've seen nothing to indicate that the price will come bellow 400 GBP, far too much for something I don't really want.

Gnome Corpses? well thats fine, I guess, but you have to use minotaur corpses to impress me.
