2D sprites get massive for the HD generation

Whoever said that the PS3 has 512mb of memory is wrong. PS3 has 256mb, half of the 360, and it still costs $120 more than the most expensive 360 model which, by the way, has double the hard drive. But that's irrelevant.

Here's the thing. None of the consoles can render "true" vector graphics, they're all rasterized. A PC can't either. Flash Player rasterizes the graphics. Now I'm as much of a Wii fanboy as anybody else, but if you render a vector graphic, rasterized, at 480p, it might end up looking worse than a 1080p or 720p picture simply because there is less pixels there. Now don't get me wrong. I think Super Paper Mario, in widescreen 480p, looks absolutely brilliant on my 1080p TV. But the fact is that even with vector graphics, there will be less pixel information there.

That being said, I don't see why they wouldn't make him with vectors, like many people have said, just to be safe.

Live for Windows priced, XBL accounts confirmed to work on Vista

Mar 8th 2007 3:58PM (Joystiq)
@36 kftgr

GDFW Live costs $8 a month. Most months are (usually) either 30 or 31 days. 30/8 is 3.75. 31/8 is 3.875 (3.88 rounded). So the cost is $3.75-$3.88 per day.

And thank you for all those that see the real point of this and think it's a pretty damn good idea.

Live for Windows priced, XBL accounts confirmed to work on Vista

Vista is fine. I've had nearly no hiccups with it. This service will be fine for 360 and PC players (those two demographics do overlap...I am an example of that). I will be pwning 360 n00bs in Shadowrun in no time.

Nobody can deny that Live is a pretty goddamn awesome online service, and bringing it to Windows, pay or not, can only be good.

Are you really all so cheap that you don't want to pay like $8 a month? That's $3.75-$3.88 a day. You can find that much in your couch and on the street.

Today's hottest game video: Diddy Kong Racing

Jan 27th 2007 10:47AM (Joystiq)
I used to fully support this, but they removed bananas. This will fail as Rare has destroyed Diddy Kong Racing with the removal of bananas.

Here's hoping for a sequel on the Wii (Nintendo produced) which retains bananas.
