Dec 4th 2008 11:16PM (WalletPop)We walked out with our $150.00 swing set, and the manager was out there changing the price as we pulled out of the lot.
We also never returned to that WalMart.

Sep 18th 2008 2:04PM (Gadling)Or just have a child, and take him on a plane at 1 year old, go anywhere. Then when he doesn't behave in your perfect little perception of a child, come back and say the same thing.
You're ignorant.
I vaguely recall having BEEN a child once, and I wasn't perfectly behaved in public every single time we went somewhere. You cannot treat children like little adults. They are children. You may be able to sit on a plane for four hours without a problem, but most kids I know need to move, they need stimulation other than what little an airplane can provide.
I have traveled twice with my son. Both times he was better behaved than most of the adults that were on the plane! - not to mention one of those occasions we were stuck in an express jet delayed for 2 1/2 hours. I heard more grown adults b****ing about the delay while he sat quietly and patiently. Even when we got to the airport, we missed our connecting flight, while waiting 4 hours for the NEXT flight, he was STILL better behaved than at least half of the others in the same position as us. - he was 3! (the first time I traveled with him he was barely 2).
Maybe some of the other passengers should seek anger management counseling. Or maybe I should teach my son to act like a total ass like the rest of the traveling population.
Three secrets of slim celebs

Mar 31st 2007 7:48PM (Fanhouse Backporch)Children need to learn how to find comraderie in others and learn how to deal with disappointment as a team, not just to have Mommy and Daddy make it all go away. I seem to recall that if my team lost, the whole team lost, not just the final out of the game.
We'll never teach our kids a damned thing at this rate!
Liz Hurley's Wedding Sari
Jan 10th 2007 3:52PM (Luxist)Second, let's all remember, Elizabeth Hurley is British, NOT American.
Last, but not least: you people are pathetic to even talk about what someone you don't know, and will never meet is going to wear on her wedding day. How about I find out what you are going to wear on YOUR wedding days and complain about your choices!
Let's remember, opinions are like a-holes, and everybody's got one!
Australian parents blamed for kids' alcohol abuse
Jan 10th 2007 1:28PM (ParentDish)Children will all rebel against their parents and will push limits to try to be independent and prove they can make their own choices, even if they make bad ones. Teenagers like to, subconsciously (that's the key word here), test their limits, to prove they're adults. What better way to do it than to "act" like an adult? You always see teens smoking, despite the warnings and lengths that adults go to to educate children on those effects, why would alcohol consumption be any different? Both are deemed cool, and if the parents do it in front of their children, the children will then use the, "well YOU do it, so why can't I??" defense against their parents.
In the end it's a lose-lose battle, no matter what you do kids are going to rebell, and the more you fight, the more they'll do it. To the same respect, if you don't fight at all, the more they'll do it. In the end though, it all comes down to how gullible tyhe children are and how badly they want to be a member of the "in" crowd.
I'm sure plenty of you will read this and say I'm wrong, that you were in the "in" crowd and it doesn't apply to you....then you were probably secure with your societal place in school, or were a member of the crowd that didn't think about that, and just did what everyone else did.
Either way, just about everyone reading this had at least 1 full drink before they were Seniors in high school, whether it led to alcholism or just a plain dislike doesn't matter.
Beyond Fruitcake: What are the worst Christmas foods?
Dec 21st 2006 8:25AM (Slashfood)I actually don't have too many complaints about my holiday feasts.
My family always made the best food. We'd start our feasting with endless appetizers of veggies and chips. Then my Mom-mom would bring out her specially made punch (complete with cherries at the bottom), then we'd move on to the main course: Turkey and ham, green beans (no casserole here), sweet potato (ok yams) casserole, stuffing (from the bird and not), sweet corn, mashed potatoes with homemade gravy, and then cranberry sauce. For desert we'd have our choice of pumpkin pie or apple pie with vanilla ice cream and a plethora of cookies.
Needless to say everyone brought food home, and it was all delicious!
