34 realms down for 48 hours

Aug 11th 2007 2:02AM (WoW)
Where does it say the realms will be down for 48 hours? Even your own quote says "during this time, some services such as the Armory or Paid Character Transfers may be unavailable. Your patience and understanding are appreciated."

No mention is made of a total black out for two days, just some services may not be available.

Don't be a slouch

Actually a lot of recent research is pointing to a slight slouch being better for your back then sitting straight. Unfortunately the "sweet spot" is impractical in an office setting.

Really the best position is what you get in a La-Z-Boy.

Your bog is spot on and I love it though, I just remember reading that sitting up straight amounts somewhat to a wife's tale.

A spec guide for classes that aren't yours

Jul 25th 2007 3:59PM (WoW)
"It's a basic, 101, no details guide to whether that Hunter running past you in the BGs is BM or Survival. That's it."

We understand the point of the article, so point out BM hunter's get beast rage, ferocious inspiration, ect.

The problem is where you say they can not raid as well as other hunters (or your other ideas about other class specs). This is an opinion and has nothing to do with spotting what spec a hunter is... and is just plain wrong. Again, please read a bit of big red kitty.

To avoid the firestorm next time stick to the FACTS, and not your misinformed opinions or generalizations.

... also Ferocious Inspiration gives a 3% total damage increase to ALL members in party and procs like mad. Also very good in raids. Im sure every other class will have gripes too.

BM Hunter - "They Can't: Raid quite as well as other Hunters-- since most of their strength is in the pet, and their pet doesn't do well under AoE (which lots of raid bosses use), they're at a disadvantage in groups."

Actually they are best total DPS option for hunter in a raid and recently added pet talents make this totally feasible... Someone needs a sitdown with fellow WoW Insider contributor Big Red Kitty.

Lighting changes in 2.2

Pretty nifty, I wonder if there will be a total graphical overhaul at some point as many other mmos have done in the past. Wow is still beautiful but with so many players I hope they continue to improve things like this.

SWG gets a Galactic Senate, we get Community Managers?

Condemned 2 developers working closely with ESRB

Jul 24th 2007 9:35PM (Joystiq)
I am really dissapointed in this. I hate that artists must alter their creative vision due to some bullshit politics. Condemned was very underrated and I am saddened that it's come to this. The big 3 companies need to allow release of AO games on their console. I am 28 and at about the AVERAGE age for a gamer, I can handle ficitonal morbid violence.

Why do movies get away with it but "games" not?

Breakfast Topic: The trading card game

Jun 18th 2007 8:52AM (WoW)
I am 28 years old, I have may fond memories from my childhood of collecting sport cards, but missed out on the TCG craze. I have however dabbled in Magic Online and this caused me to buy a few boxes of the WoW TCG.

Long story short, as just a collectible I have enjoyed these cards immensely, and also received a few cool in game items. My biggest complaint is I have nobody to play with. I have friends who played magic but the hassle of getting together and throwing down cards on a regular basis is a bit too much.

For this reason I hope very much that they take this online as Magic is. In MTGO you can redeem your virtual card for sets of the real cards. Honestly Magic Online lacks polish to me, I get a woody thinking about what Blizzard could do. I think this could be a serious cash cow (Like Blizzard really needs another).
