wow, you're point was very moving. too bad it was BS. Courts have found that EULA's are not binding contracts and have thrown out several lawsuits based on that.
I fully expect to see you decrying every ben heck machine, every picture of a nes toaster, every functional controller coffee table, etc on joystiq from now until forever.
Otherwise you're just a hypocrite (my personal opinion)
Can I backup my computer software? Yes, under certain conditions as provided by section 117 of the Copyright Act. Although the precise term used under section 117 is “archival” copy, not “backup” copy, these terms today are used interchangeably. This privilege extends only to computer programs and not to other types of works.
Under section 117, you or someone you authorize may make a copy of an original computer program if: the new copy is being made for archival (i.e., backup) purposes only; you are the legal owner of the copy; and any copy made for archival purposes is either destroyed, or transferred with the original copy, once the original copy is sold, given away, or otherwise transferred.
@Gregarious Honestly though, I don't see a lot of the DLC as worth the money, especially on stuff like mass effect or other RPGs, so I think I'd be even LESS inclined to buy it for a shooter, but that's my personal opinion.
I think the game looks pretty neat, and am likely to buy it, but not likely to get the DLC. I think MS is tossing money at these exclusives that aren't really going to sway many people, it's not like this is a huge franchise like GTA was. This is a new IP, and might even end up not being good!
But if you are interested, I just hate to see people let the companies' console war BS keep them from playing a multiplat release all together.
The difference is, I'm not breaking the law jackass. you would be if you were speeding in a 60 zone. going to a racetrack however would be a legal outlet.
See, you need to stop equating all gun owners with murderers. I guess you are interested in video games so that must make you a virgin.
Actually, they might not. They might just think that it's a 3rd party title and not worry so much about it, they were already paid the licensing.
What may happen though is that they may go "see, no one bought the game, good thing we didn't try to secure exclusive rights, that would have been a waste."
Also, this game not selling well might make them not devote as much resources to developing similar style and genre games from first party efforts.
Do you understand that by not buying it you are reinforcing their idea that teh 360 is a more viable platform for specials because they sell better there?
If you're not interested in the game, cool, don't buy it, but if you think you're punishing the dev, you're really just making it easier for them to not support your console.
I think because of kinect's marketing. It is a hell of a lot of fun, but I think I read somewhere that it being on Oprah made preorders jump by some ungodly high number the next day,
