Verizon's Fivespot gets FCC approval by way of ZTE

Aug 14th 2010 11:37AM (Engadget)
@EagleyeSmith

People are all up in arms about AT&T and Verizons current data plans.

I can't wait to see their eyeballs pop out of their heads literally when verizon dumps on them a $50/month charge for 4G

Dell Thunder spied again, still looking awesome

@Bearpowers

No one cares...least of all AT&T

And for all your bitching AT&T is still getting all the mega phones. Although the iPhone 4 is the best one out there we're still getting the Torch, the Streak, the new Windows 7 Phones...etc etc...

Pre designer Peter Skillman latest to leave Palm, entire senior staff now in exodus

Aug 9th 2010 11:38PM (Engadget)
I mean I know no one can truly answer this but I have to ask all the same....WHY are they leaving HP/Palm?

Is it that they have little faith in HP? Or do they think that webOS is no longer going to be as great as they envisioned it to be thanks to the merger? Is it lack of access to webOS...has it been completely taken over by HP employees?

Its just kinda shocking to me that so many of these former Palm big wigs are just jumping ship post merger. What exactly has happened since this deal went thru to make them leave? There hasn't even been RUMORS of a webOS device let along a launch to determine whether the next phase of the OS is a fail or success.

Nokia's VP talks N8, MeeGo 'milestone product,' tablets, Android and more!

Aug 6th 2010 7:19PM (Engadget)
LMAO at the Android fanboys...you guys got SHOT DOWN.

Not even Nokia is desperate enough to abandon it's own OS to jump on the android ship....

Anyways I'm waiting to see what MeeGo looks and feels like but until then I think Nokia is definitely a sinking ship on a free for all. Sure the N8 is a nice device but it's not revolutionary and its certainly not got the "IT" factor that the iPhone has.

WIsh Engadget had gone more into their App store strategy.

The HP eStation Zeen, the Zeus printer, and everything we know about them

Why android HP?vvWhat's the point of getting webOS?

And God that name is awful. And we all though KIN was a fail. This is going to make that look like a successful product.

Live from RIM and AT&T's BlackBerry Torch event!

@aluglu

Too bad RIM has failed...and will continue to fail. This is just mediocre at best.

This should have come out like a year ago. Now it just looks like a Palm Pre wannabe.

Windows Phone 7 coming to Europe in October, US in November, according to Microsoft COO (video)

@N900

Oh please it's a matter of public record. Since time immemorial Apple Haters like you and MarkAnderson have always complained about one thing or another when it comes iOS and the iPhone.

First it was copy and paste. Multitasking. Blah blah blah. All the while the iPhone (in its multiple forms continued to sell millions).

Despite the attacks from the holier than thou Apple Haters like yourselves.

Now Windows Phone 7 is about to be released. A different UI to be sure. Better than previous windows releases. However it's not perfect. And if you guys weren't hypocrites you guys would be bitching about it not having copy and paste...JUST like you did about Apple

@MarkAnderson

Talk about hypocrisy nokia fanboy....

When it was Apple who didn't have copy and paste you were bitching like there was tomorrow.

Now that it's MS who doesn't have it it's "A OKAY" since it doesn't matter to no one outside the "nerd community"

Validas study finds Verizon smartphones consuming more data than iPhones

Jul 30th 2010 9:39AM (Engadget)
@Rick Astley

He's right thought...I mean honestly this is the dumbest comparison to date.

1 Phone vs MULTIPLE Phones

Does anyone seriously doubt that if AT&T added in all the OTHER phones on its network that it's data usage wouldn't overtake Verizons?

This is just another dumb comparison. The iPhone (and AT&T by extension) still have the upper hand in this whole data usage debate. You can't compare 1 phone vs 100 phones and say that's fair...

Internet Explorer 9 Beta expected in September, screenshots leak now

Jul 30th 2010 7:30AM (Engadget)
Rocking FIrefox beta and Safari. I have Chrome installed and while I can't deny its fast I don't like the UI and there little things that just make it unusable for me.

IE8 seems a little sluggish for me so hopefully IE9 will be like Windows 7 and just in your face responsive and fast.
