Cybering night elves is cheating, but will you stop?

irrelevant to this story, but it's been bugging me...
what does PWNED mean?!

Analyst 84 wags finger at analyst 83, says PS3 will win

Jul 27th 2006 7:20PM (Joystiq)
As much as I'd love Ninty to win a round of these so-called 'wars', weren't initial reactions to playing (the admittedly early build of) Red Steel kinda so-so?

Considering Wii is supposedly launching at the start of October, we've actually seen very little proof (if any) that this controller is going to be as intuitive as they claim.

i.e. Wii is still a crapshoot so analysts have very little to go on until we know how the thing really does play.

Apple, ATI, and the future of Mac gaming

Jul 26th 2006 7:04PM (Joystiq)
yeh, Shag!, the word of mouth is: "hey, there are computers out there that are intuitive, the way technology always promises to be but rarely achieves. Sounds like you're jealous of Mac styling because you own a Dell or some other crap.
And luddites?! Why should you be a tech-guru to find files, or edit video even? It's 2006 - you should be able to plug and play. And so far only Mac's deliver on that front. Sure, there's a premium in price, but at least you get results easily. Most people aren't tech-savvy, and nor should they need to be.

Wii Call of Duty 3 readies for frontline

I'm a casual (slutty?) nintendo fanboy, but the nunchuk controller looks complicated for my lazy brain. The left hand does what while the right hand does huh?! And the feedback from E3 didn't exactly reassure me. I really hope their first wave of games gets great reviews or casual gamers are going to be scared of buying a Wii. COD Wii looks fine - I'm just praying this control method really is as intuitive as they promise.

Xbox 360 and HD DVD to drop for under $500?

May 16th 2006 6:46PM (Engadget)
LEAVE ME ALONE ALREADY! i have a collection of DVD movies, the quality is fine, and Blu-Ray/HD-DVDs are gonna cost more per movie, just like in the bad old days when DVDs first launched. It took forever in Britain for the price to drop. Thank God for Nintendo, cos MS and Sony are rapidly losing me as a casual gaming consumer.

OMG SPORE R0X0Rz!!!1!

As a gay gamer (and a Nokia user) I'm glad to see that gaming is finally diversifying. I think...

Free basic service on "PlayStation Network Platform"

Mar 15th 2006 2:24PM (Joystiq)
Wow, when did gaming become so political? What makes somebody swear such allegiance to a brand? It's like crips vs bloods on here with all the flaming. You'd think they gave birth to these companies, the way some people get so offended about their precious console choice. What is that all about?
There are good and bad things about ALL the systems. And surely the competition can only be a good thing for all consumers. Hopefully it'll drive down the increasingly exorbitant prices these days. Sadly, I doubt it. Anybody reckon Revolution's games will cost as much as 360 games?

PlayStation 3 could feature downloadable PSone, PS2 games

Mar 13th 2006 6:39PM (Joystiq)
Sony as a company now is so complicated and labyrinthine that I find their products too complicated to navigate. I'm confused by their proprietry software and their ever changing formats. I can't imagine their hastily put together online experience will be a pleasure to use either. I hope to be wrong though.
