Supreme Court's Brown v. EMA opinions: A digest

Jun 29th 2011 12:27PM (Joystiq)
@(Unverified) Yeah, that's my main problem with that particular dissenting opinion. He descends into meaningless hyperbole at that point (he almost had me before he launched into the "beat, torture, rape then maim and kill a woman" nonsense). That is the very definition of a strawman argument.

Verizon can almost serve GigE on existing FiOS platform, which means you'll soon be relocating

@fendz I used to have fiber with 20Mbps up and down. It was glorious. I became spoiled, I must admit. Now I have Comcast and the world is a darker place.`

Editorial: Waiter, there's a Nazi theme in my Android Market (updated)

@R2 D2 I was just going to say this. Guys, the word 'censorship' absolutely does not apply here. Neither does 'Freedom of Speech' or 'the First Amendment.' Those are all strictly confined to the government and speech in a public forum. Every other time you use the phrases (especially in this case with Google and their siloed app market, as Josh brings up), you are misapplying them.

@drathos Was just going to point this same thing out.

Palm enabling webOS apps to interact with Universal Search, dock mode?

Aug 12th 2010 1:50PM (Engadget)
@cool8man That's not crazy, I agree with you wholeheartedly. One of the things that made me pull up short of ordering an EVO was the very same thing. Palm really showed that they put some serious thought into the design of their accessory. I hope that they do expand the brand out more, because it's a great starting point that no one has managed to ape yet.

ATI CrossFireX versus NVIDIA SLI: performance scaling showdown

Aug 12th 2010 1:41PM (Engadget)
@muzicman82 I agree with you. I always used to do the switch back and forth depending on who was best at the time, but I realized that I was routinely having a more pleasant experience with nVidia cards because of the things you mention. Nowadays, I just stick with them. I know everyone says "no loyalty" in the GPU wars or whatever, but honestly, the fit and finish that nVidia has around the product is just superior to me, and it's worth it.

hehe, sorry, just wanted to inappropriately interject there. 8^)

Palm enabling webOS apps to interact with Universal Search, dock mode?

Aug 12th 2010 1:34PM (Engadget)
@mrkalel I agree, Superman. I hope so too. Official Car docks, for instance, would be much appreciated. Auto-connecting via WiFi or BT to the PC and/or a BT connection to the dock (with an audio-out to speakers) that auto-connects when docked would also be neat.
