It's kinda hard to blame the GPS here how was the machine to know the driver was driving a big rig. If it was a regular car and truck it might of made the trip. The driver should of figured this out, and found another way around.
That is very true and this is not scifi either at press conference they used a radio controlled car but the bmw used GPS and cruise control (I been saying this for years, finaly someone got involved and made it happen) to navigate the track.
