The Guitar Hero series, headed by Activision, drove itself into the ground by flooding the market with so many games in a year. I think they rode the genre too hard and fast, just caring about the quick money and not the investment. The Rock Band series, although still shaky too, at least has some better ground because the series isn't quite as saturated and the know how to work the DLC business model. Time for the Rock Band people to concentrate on supporting RB3 with new songs and maybe new modes in the form of DLC. Perhaps it will give the series a little more longevity.
