3, that's exactly what Nintendo wants to avoid. The system isn't the "Nintendo Wii", it's just "Wii". They are trying to develop a new brand like "GameBoy", but in the console market.

The Nintendo brand has been plagued by various image problems since the N64. While Nintendo remains a very strong brand, it also gives the company a chance to start fresh and shed some of the image issues associated with Nintendo.

People aren't stupid and most will know that Wii is a Nintendo product, but without major Nintendo branding associated with the system, it makes it easier for people who passed Nintendo over years ago to consider Wii.

What's with all the IGN bashing in every second article on this site? Are you guys really so insecure and threatened that you feel the need to dog on another site every chance you get?

Grow up and just do your own thing. You don't have to put down another site all the time just to make yourselves feel better about your own.

You tell people to use their own minds when choosing games. Why can't you leave people to use their own minds when choosing what sites to read as well?

I'm not even a big IGN fan, I just find this behavior childish and highly unprofessional.

Madden Wii was one of my personal biggest surprises at E3. I personally hate football as a sport and even more as a game, but Madden Wii made the game FUN.Some people don't play videogames to sit slouched on a couch in a sloth-like state. Some people like to me immersed and involved in the experience. The Wii brings a lot of that to the table.Like someone already said, this version of Madden will appeal to many people that enjoy being active rather than passive vegetables.
