You don't get to legally share your copy of Microsoft Office with your brother just because you are no longer using it. Technically, your brother, or whomever you share it with, is supposed to purchase their own copy.
While I do not support the later business model, it is one that is there, and has been for quite some time. I support developers making money, so that they can make more games. But this notion that a second hand market is something to be shunned and segregated is not the right direction to take.
I am not sure what the perfect solution to this issue is, but I don't think this is the best one. Sadly, it looks like this is the route that most publishers will be taking.
