"The way games are approved should change, there is no proper quality or content checking involved - it's a crapped out free-for-all."
That's the whole beauty of that system; It's self policed. Microsoft has little to no say, other than the guidelines we are required to follow. If we wanted a strictly governed system, we would have gone to iOS.
"The devs who really create something special deserve more attention, but the majority of the games are total rubbish - sadly, just awful rubbish letting the channel down for the devs who have created gaming magic."
You could EASILY make the same argument for iOS. Look at what's on there. Apple however, has cleverly designed their marketplace so that the rubbish sinks to the bottom, and the creme is promoted and rises to the top.
@GTThaAceman It's a bit more work than just porting over, because we have to deal with so many variations in hardware. Screen resolutions, touch inputs vs. controllers, etc.
Many of them are making the move to WP7, but at the same time XNA devs are also porting their titles to iOS and PC
I agree, definitely check out his Vlog which he updates 3 times a week, as well as on his site where he writes pretty thorough posts on converting the game from one platform to the other.
