After reading the playbook what I gathered from it was.
1. They will have MINIMAL amounts in the store on the day of launch and the pre-orders have priority. 2. If they aren't able to fulfill your order on launch day they will give you a call and let you know that they will get it for you asap (they might even say it word for word). 3. The people that wait outside on launch day will be offered pre-sales based on their available inventory. If they don't have extras you will pretty much be thrown on a waiting list. 4. People that pre-ordered the white iPhone will have the option to switch to a black if it's available. 5. They are able to call in people that pre-ordered before the store opens so they can get your phone set up before the store opens at 10am. (starting at 7am EST) 6. Customers > Employees as far as available stock goes. 7. They will not call you and set up an appointment until they know their available stock. So calling won't help.
Well hope some of those helped you guys..if you aren't high on the pre-order list you may receive a call saying you are on a list for their next shipment. In that case Apple may be your only bet if you can't wait for your pre-order to be taken care of.
I was thinking the same thing too but then I saw a video of the iBand on YouTube. If it's anywhere as good as that I'm sold, they were throwing it against walls and dropping it from 2 stories up and it was perfect still.
Not that this helps people that aren't in the areas with them but I called a Best Buy and they said they were doing pre-orders. Despite what was being said about third party sellers.
I can actually see it on the site but I'd rather not go through them. I'm tempted to call an east coast Best Buy and see if they're pre-ordering so I know 3hrs ahead of time.
Since someone said AT&T is down as well...I'll go on a limb and say they're taking the 3G and the other models of the 3GS off and replacing it with the 8gb.
