I watched hardly any TV when I was a kid because I was either playing outside or playing videogames. My mom bought my little sister a DS when it was obvious my sister watches too much TV because her accent/dialect/enunciation didn't reflect a Queens accent at all... pronouncing "orange" with a long O and pronouncing marry the same as Mary--two things NO native New Yorkers (anyone she would converse with IRL) do, even those who don't have strong accents. On the other hand, I probably watched not enough TV as a kid, because I sound like Joe Pesci.

It's been a crawling race between this and DNF for how long now?

What I learned:

First solving a Rubik's cube really fast... which a freaking JVM can print out the solution for in a second, no supercomputer required... then slow-motion speed-stacking?
Impressing some dope is not the same as appealing to him, stupid.

If I could play Doom on my ipod, I'd probably use the poor neglected thing a little more often. The DS is currently my bus-and-subway-riding gadget of choice.

If I had been 100% ignorant of Mario somehow, and you told me just now that the industry's biggest-selling franchise involved the critically-acclaimed formula of plumber+mushrooms+giant enemy flying turtles, I would have thought the entire culture of video gaming was seriously fucked.

The Toys R Us I work at in Queens, NY (2.2 mil) has never even gotten a second shipment of PS3s... though I'm sure the line would form three days before if we did, since the entire city has been 100% dry. As for Wii's, the line last week was longer than the PS3 and Wii launch lines combined. We only had fifty, though... people who got on line after 1:30 didn't get one.

Haha, every game released on the N64 launch was amazing... that's right, the TWO GAMES released at the N64 launch were classic. 100% satisfaction FTW!!!
