A satire on a gaming site? Did I just got trolled so early in the morning!??!
Anyway, I like FF the way it is. The sad thing is that the market for jRPG is just much smaller. Too many people will turn their noses and thumb down anything anime-esque, so it is natural that jRPGs can't do nearly as well as something that is meant for the mainstream. Despite America (and the world) being full of people, RPGs are still a tiny niche. Even wRPGs (that are meant for real RPG fans like say, Deus Ex) still doesn't sell nearly as well as Madden.
@Dunraven WoW is not bleeding customers because it is doing something wrong. It's bleeding customers because it is old. It is wayyyy old. People will have to start looking for something new eventually.
It's about time we lay WoW to rest. It has had a good run, but it is healthier for the industry for the player to move on already.
I want WoW to die...but the sad part is, it's the only game on my radar that I keep wanting to come back to after I quit.
I'm a long time fan of jRPGs, so I don't care much for moral choices or branching story lines. I only look for solid combat (still haven't found a game with better battle system than 13) and strong story to follow. In my opinion, 13 excels in both area if you look past the prejudice.
It's understandable though. I know most westerners consider crafting your own story as the most important part of an RPG. But to me, RPGs mean you take on the role of someone else, and you follow the story through, even if you don't get to make many choices.
@Extinction Are you implying that my Camry is in fact not better than your Ferrari? *remove glove, drop brick inside, slap Extinction with the brick-filled glove.
This would make PvP against melee class very interesting. With all these instant AoEs, how is anyone supposed to stand near a mage and not perish instantly (or..over time). Having Flame Strike on the ground while standing in your own Flaming Orb seems like a very hot, gassy line of defense.
Gabe Newell added that the company is "really happy with the current situation with the PS3." Frankly, that's a load of bull. I can just see him snicker when he said that. Gabe doesn't like developing for any console. He's clearly a PC elitist (for a good reason).
God forbid you might have to actually hit the guy with a stick once to remove him from Camo before continuing to blast him again. It wouldn't help him fight against a class with physical pet (as their pets will be wailing on him--Warlock and Shadow Priest, hunters), it wouldn't help against physical classes (as they'd be wailing on him-Rogue, non-Balanced druids, warriors, pally, shaman, DK, hunters), it would not work against DoT class (priests, DK, Warlock, Fire Mage, Balanced Druids, hunters, Rogue, Arms Warriors). I think with an exception of Frost Mage (not sure how Water Elemental works), just about everyone has a pretty easy way to keep Camo from acting up too much mid fight.
