The Wii U will not be significantly more powerful than the 360 and PS3. Reggie himself said so. At this point its not known how much more powerful the next xbox will be

And after 5 years of development, he's not willing to wait a few months to be a part of Summer of Arcade, even though it would lead to more publicity and almost certainly more sales? Yes, sales for Summer of Arcade have been declining, but it's still gotta be better than releasing outside that window? Origin even has cloud saves on some games now. Dead Space 2, which I got on Steam, shows up in my Origin list now and my existing saves were synced up to the cloud.

It's not a patch. They aren't saying anything about the bug being fixed, just that they will repair save data that has been affected by the bug.

They are going to release an app that will repair save files. The game itself will not be patched and the bug won't be fixed.

@Scuffles The games that OnLive streams are PC games, that's where the PC comes in. If publishers can sell more PC games because of OnLive (since it can now make these games accessible to a wider audience including low-powered PCs and tablets), then that is a win for the PC gaming industry.
