N-Gage booth: empty

May 12th 2006 11:23AM (Joystiq)
I don't suppose this was between the Gizmondo and Tapwave booths, by any chance?

Sneak peek at E3, with pics!

More N-Gage?! I thought they finally gave up on that last year. And I haven't seen many N-Gage games come out lately... a search on EBGames turns up only one game, the Tomb Raider launch title, available for $2.99 NEW. Geez, Nokia, give it up already.

Duke Nukem Forever "in full production"

Feb 2nd 2006 6:23AM (Joystiq)
I find it interesting that Duke Nukem Forever and Mother 3 (Earthbound), both games that started life more than a decade ago, are officially confirmed within a week of each other!

Fear of Girls

My congratulations to whoever did the credits at the end. Beautiful!

The movie was good too, although just a tiny bit over the top. When it comes to making mockumentaries, take a page from Christopher Guest's book... subtlety is king.

Game magazine subscription data

Jan 13th 2006 5:03PM (Joystiq)
Game Informer is not bad at all, and the Gamestop card pays for the subscription almost instantly... I don't buy many games at GameStop, but I always go for their DVD box sets, especially during the buy-2-get-1-free promotions they have every few weeks. The best part of their mag is the retro section, which is usually one decent-sized article and a few small capsule reviews.

The best all-around mag though is EGM, with the best (and apparently least-biased) review section, and the Seanbaby column is always a must-read for me.

Infinium is producing the Phantom (keyboard) goods!

It does look the part, but do a lot of people really use a keyboard whilst on the couch?

New Sega Genesis game to be released spring 2006

Jan 11th 2006 1:30PM (Joystiq)
Interesting idea, but it's a novelty at best, and I doubt they'll find many takers at $46. It seems like they're courting the hardcore collector market... the folks who keep a shrinkwrapped Action 52 Genesis cartidge in a lighted glass case and dust it regularly. A price point around $20 would bring in the curious gamer and make it an attractive gift item for retro-gaming fans.
