Hot Pursuit demo, Undead Nightmare highlight today's XBLM releases
Oct 26th 2010 11:32AM (Joystiq)1.) You need to have a friend download the demo to unlock a track
2.) Autolog is not working
3.) Took forever to download (360)
For the few moments I played it, it was okay. But I was only able to play as the cop, when I wanted to play as a racer. However until autolog actually works you can't.
Final Realtime Worlds employees let go, US branch also shutting down
Sep 17th 2010 1:14PM (Joystiq)I would have given it a go if it was one the 360, and not a paid subscription. If they wanted to charge me for extra customization, extra levels I probably would have been cool with that. As it stood though, I could get my sandbox fix with other games.
Users report Halo: Reach disc read errors
Sep 16th 2010 6:35PM (Joystiq)Makes sense it would be the optical drive. Although why it happens when I am playing off the hard drive is kind of weird. Anyway, hopefully the repair is quick.
Users report Halo: Reach disc read errors
Sep 16th 2010 5:37PM (Joystiq)As well when your report the issue (like I did) they offer to replace your 360 even if it is out of warranty. When I called they claimed that the firmware in the 360 needed to be updated by them, why it couldn't be done over Live is beyond me.

Aug 19th 2010 11:53AM (Joystiq)So it makes me wonder about their high price point....
1.) The thing is fake, so they will only be doing 1 shipment
2.) There is nothing special about the flash drive, so they will only be doing 1 shipment before the exploit is available on the net.
3.) There is a special chip on the flash drive that does the timing of the attack, this drove their cost up and they need to sell as many of these as possible before they are reverse engineered and knock offs start selling
Ophthalmologist says 3D 'not likely' to do long-term damage to your eyes
Aug 13th 2010 2:07PM (Joystiq)From the article:
""Children are not born with the ability to use both eyes together, they do not have any true binocularity at birth, and they certainly do not have stereoscopic vision." It is possible that 3D could harm developing eye muscles.""
AND
"the expert pegged the appropriate 3D viewing age even lower than Nintendo."
The article doesn't talk about any studies, just a respected doctor giving his opinion. I assume you read the article right?
Ophthalmologist says 3D 'not likely' to do long-term damage to your eyes
Aug 13th 2010 10:17AM (Joystiq)It does nothing to say where the supposed "myth" comes from, how the initial findings were flawed and how his are better. I would be cool if somewhere in the article it said "to protect against lawsuits, nothing more" or something to that affect but there is not even that. I assume you read the article where it states that younger kids should not be playing at all as it could really hurt their eyesite.
As for your example about chocolate is so flawed that it is ridiculous. Nobody eats a piece of chocolate and thinks, wow that is causing some bad things to happen in my brain. However people do view 3D movies and games and think "wow, this hurts my eyes" or "this gives me a headache". So you can record a reaction, 3D is perfected and most likely safe for everyone when the same person says "wow, this is totally enjoyable".
