I've actually played the Wii U.....not. But I do play my iPad 2 hooked up to my HDTV and I have to say, it's a little odd ball. Sure you can get used to anything, but I wouldn't say it's the most comfortable thing ever, especially over the long term. If you think you're going to enjoy holding that Wii U controller/tablet for extended gameplay sessions, think again. That's a lot of real estate in your hands....
Attaching a Kinect or a Move to your system is like giving your kid a lobotomy. Sure it's entertaining for awhile, but eventually you realize you've made a huge mistake.
I will never buy another Mad Catz controller. Bought my son the COD MW2 controller as a fun gift and after a few months it was no longer supported after Sony updated to 3.50. I understand it's not Mad Catz fault and the controller was quite good, but why take that chance again? It's not like Mad Catz is some Hong Kong knock off company, it's a licensed manufacturer of third party peripherals. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on you again, because come on, I'm an idiot, and you shouldn't get off on fooling me.
A Wii U launch title? So Nintendo is still going through with this system? Well, you at least have to admire their tenacity. Time to throw in the towel Nintendo. Just please make your games for other people's hardware and save us all the trouble of buying a system that no third party actually supports......again. Or it they do support it, are able to make it play and look identical to its cross-platform brothers, unlike the watered down versions they get now.
Nintendo is just being unfair at this point. Everyone loves their games but no one really wants to be stuck buying a system that doesn't get a lot of love or action, beyond some great first party titles. So once again, if you love NIntendo you basically buy a Nintendo system for their slightly altered from last-generation and the generation before that and the generation before that, first party titles.
It would make much more sense to just play the next Zelda, Mario, Super Smash, Pokemon, Mario Kart, Metroid, Donkey Kong, Star Fox, Kirby, Mario Tennis, Mario Party (did I miss any?) on the NextBox or PS4.
Angry Birds? Never heard of it. Is it supposed to be good? Wait a sec. Is it a game based on all of those t-shirts, posters and stuff birds I see at the mall? Figures they'd make a game to try and cash in on all of that merchandising. What's next? Soon you'll be able to play this on your iPod. Trust me, it's coming.
*what that means for your weekend..." Thanks for the great edit feature Joystiq. I wonder if Activision News will have an edit feature? Hmmm.... choices....
Some kids and some adults are going to love this. Not me or my kids, but that's okay. Of course, because I'm indifferent to this game inevitably someone on Joystiq will accuse of me of being disappointed because I thought this was going to be "Grand Theft Oswald" or something. Go ahead, you know you want to.
You lost me at "cinematic parkour sequence". If I can't play it, why do I care? Here's an idea Activision. Withhold the game until the DVD release in the fall and let Beenox make the game good. Yeah, it's not going to be Rocksteady good, we all know that, but at this point I'd settle for Shaba or Treyarch good. Rushing this game to market to coincide with the movie is a suicide deal. We all know Beenox didn't have a lot of development time on this game with Shattered Dimensions and Edge of Time. Beenox couldn't even make a good linear game that took place in a building in a years time. How does anyone expect them to be able to pull off a free roam game in the same amount of time? That's when corners get cut and that's when gamers get such things like "cinematic parkour sequence". When I say I'm "cautiously optimistic" I really mean "I don't think it's going to work, but I can dream, can't I?"
