Ok, well let's look at it from another point of view:

Gears of War has now sold $3M copies at $60 each. $180M. Not too shabbly. But then, it is estimated that the game motivated the sale of about 1M Xbox360s @ about $400 each. That's 400m. Now let's add on all of the peripherals to that figure...now let's add on the HDTVs that were motivated by the shift to HD gaming...now let's add on the surround sound systems....etc. At any rate....I wouldn't be surprised if Gears motivated the movement of a billion dollars so far.

And then there's Zelda and the Wii.

Ask any filmmaker where their audience is going.....it's not rocket science fellas.

Way to minimize Gears' accomplishments, Joystiq! To be honest, I expected it to sell more, quicker....not because of marketing hype but because it's one of the funnest games I've ever played....everyone in the world should be buying this game for everyone else!!! Sky's the limit on this one for Epic.

I think a fair comparison would be to compare how Halo 1 sold...the conditions are about the same...debut of an original IP, released 1 year into an established install base. Where are those numbers??

Daxter has no load screens and looks better than almost everything out there, so it evidently has nothing to do with the hardware. It just seems that most PSP developers either don't know what they're doing or simply don't care. I sure hope Ready At Dawn makes another fantastic game like Daxter.
