Skyrim's PC fans are modding the crap out of it with Steam Workshop

Feb 15th 2012 12:33PM (Joystiq)
@Dick Socrates I can't even begin to explain how wrong and naive your comment is. How exactly is Valve "muscling in" and taking over an aspect of your life? Skyrimnexus.com is still there. No one is forcing you to use the workshop. Also, people weren't waiting for the workshop to start modding. People were waiting for the creation kit. It's totally up to you if you want to make it harder on yourself and make mods without the creation kit and make it harder for your fans to use your mod by not having it on the workshop. You can be as stupid as you want. No one cares.

Watch Bethesda's 'Skyrim Game Jam' sizzle reel right here

You can fast travel to the Jarl's mansions/castles inside towns.

How exactly do you associate "trees growing on mountainsides" with "I should be able to climb said mountainside"? And also, I've never run into a mountainside that you couldn't climb with a little time and spamming the jump button, but in the end it's always faster to just follow the road. Your impatience to get up the side of the mountain makes you waste more time than you would've just taking the road... so just take the road and your problem is solved.

And what were you expecting them to say? "All of this will definitely go into the game"? It's not good to give definitive answers if you really don't have a definitive answer. That should be common sense.

Skyrim goes Braveheart in amazing machinima video

@TheDarkWayne If you have Skyrim for the PC, you can download the Midas Magic mod and have those spells. :P At least from what I can tell, a lot of those spells looked like Midas Magic spells.

The thrilling difference the high-res texture pack makes in Skyrim

@(Unverified) I also play PC and Consoles equally and you still seem quite full of yourself.

The REAL fact is, if you honestly didn't care, then you shouldn't be so upset about something that doesn't even effect you in the slightest. Why exactly does it hurt you so much that people get excited?

People getting excited over something that they enjoy don't have a problem. Some Ahole that tries to make them feel stupid for getting excited over something they enjoy has the problem. You're also a hypocrite because you're the one trying to act all high and mighty and putting everyone else down.

If you honestly didn't care, then you'd be content with simply not downloading the texture pack. But since you go out of your way to try and make everyone else feel stupid over what they enjoy, you're obviously lying to yourself.

Minecraft easter egg makes its way into Skyrim

@(Unverified) Notch and Mojang haven't been one of the "little guys" for a long time. If you haven't noticed, everyone and their mother's know about Minecraft and he's made millions and millions of dollars. Notch just hasn't developed the maturity of being a company yet, so he still acts like one of the little guys.

Howard: Skyrim offers infinite procedurally generated quests

Nov 9th 2011 8:24PM (Joystiq)
@Courtney It's not wasted if there are people out there who enjoy it. I don't mean to be rude, but the game isn't only going to be geared towards your specific interests. So you don't like doing the randomly generated quests and would rather do the scripted quests? Then just do those scripted quests. Just because you don't like the additional (and completely optional) content doesn't mean it's wasted resources.

@Faceless Troll It's not really that you'r complaining about people's favorite game. It's about you complaining about one specific aspect of a game that you have never played. Perhaps if you stop and think about how stupid you're being, you'll understand. For instance, you're complaining because you don't want to do the extra fetch quests. Easy fix? Play the game and ignore the EXTRA fetch quests. It's not like they're shoving this game down your throat and forcing you to do every single thing that they've implemented into the game. See, you're complaint has absolutely no ground to stand on. It would be like me ordering my favorite steak and then yelling at the waiter for offering me a complementary desert. If you don't want the desert, then stfu and don't eat it.

Valve relaunching Team Fortress 2 as free-to-play title

@Jetleo1 I seriously don't understand this idea that people deserve any reimbursement whatsoever. Would you get reimbursed if the price simply dropped? I paid 50 dollars for the game. Shouldn't I have gotten 30 dollars back when it dropped to 20 dollars? That's like saying if you bought it when it was $2.50, you shouldn't be allowed to play the game anymore when it goes back to $20.00. In what world would you ever get reimbursed for an item you purchased if the item goes down in price later on?

@Mr Esc is the namesarcasm is my
I have some solutions for you. Don't play on idling servers if you don't like them. Don't buy virtual items if you think they're overpriced. Don't use the new items if you think they're worthless. If items take too long for you to find, don't worry about finding them and play the game.

Wow, I think that covered all of your problems with the game!

@VeeDeeVee Yeah, your comment is just all sorts of wrong. Case in point, Spiderman 2.
