I am in the same boat.. I picked the Vita up on impulse and said I will just get Uncharted and if a good must buy game ever hits it I will have the system already. Well Uncharted is awesome, I also got Lumines and its pretty damn slick itself, have Stardust coming soon when the freebie 3g package kicks in, downloaded all the demos and AR free games and Tuesday was pretty much in line for MLB The Show.
My wife had a PSP Go and we liked it alot and used it when out, traveling and things like that. The Vita I sit and use so far every night while watching TV, before bed and at lunch or waiting. Its a really good item and I think has a good life ahead... especially when the games really start to roll in.
Dont get why people are so up at arms.. dont buy them if you dont want them - its completely optional. With double/triple cash days and sales.. you dont even ever have to pay their full price for things if you really want to buy things from the shop.
My prediction is that this launch will be a big mess.. I am staying away for a month or so and let things settle.. maybe longer. I dont think this MMO is going anywhere any time soon and MMOs are like fine wine.. need time to settle to gain full flavor.
I ignore the free to play model and just bought the new expac and tried out a Beast Lord and subbed. I am having a total blast and of course Frostfell is the best "Holiday Celebration" in any MMO. I was happy to hear that SoE grandfathered in old class/race combos to be free to play, I will use this maybe once in awhile when I am not subbed to log in and check on things, but the Free to Play model is generally more expensive than a simple monthly subscripion fee... its basically a bait used to get people hooked to the game and then subscribe for full features.. makes sense to me.
I hope that the Free to Play models die and the next EQ game does not have it.
Oh and BTW.. Beast Lords are quite unique and a really fun and different class. I wonder if this is a peek at what SoE has in store for the next EQ game.
