I dug Namco's INinja (picked it up for the GameCube), but Hitman's one of my favorite franchises out there. I guess this is the way the wind is blowing.
Hmm, I wonder what happens when you recreate this study and swap out video games for sports. Maybe in the highly domesticated world we've all been raised in, a little aggression isn't a bad thing.
I have to disagree, Mike. The notion of personalized characters, even on a console, is not entirely unique or original. Does Microsoft get the credit for letting people have unique online handles (aka GamerTags)? Of course not.
It's all in how well an idea is executed that makes it noteworthy. It looks like Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony all have their own interpretations of this avatar idea, though no one is a direct copy of another.
Beautiful song, actually takes a simple premise from the game and makes it thoughtful and poignant. Games so often focus on those rescuing, not those being rescued -- this does so while also offering a Rosencrantz-esque alternative perspective of that world.
