WOW, i can't express how excited i am for this wtf. This is one of those games that absolutely loved but when i mentioned the game to friends they were like..."Never heard of it" ...Ah man, this is great!!
Am i disappointed i have to get another client besides Steam? Yes. Do I really care? No.
Honestly, tons of people reacted like this when Microsoft joined the gaming industry with the Xbox. The difference here is, i don't have to go spend 200-300 dollars on a console to play a game. All I need is my email address and to download a completely free client.
Has anyone considered with the amount of games EA distributes, it is probably cheaper for them to do it this way then let Steam take a cut from every game/dlc pack sold. It is only smart business, last i checked, that's what EA is.
Anyway, if you are truly mad about this. Allow me to throw more gas on the fire. EA is probably only the beginning. I'm sure Activision/Blizzard will be next. ;D
Might sound like I am hating on Steam but I am really not. Just looking at it from a business standpoint.
I like League of Legends but i really hope Valve charges an upfront for DOTA 2. I know LoL has champion bundles, but has anyone sat down and tallied up how much it would cost to get all 80ish of them, insane. Or am i the only one who actually would like to have access to them all? Not to mention rune pages and skins you sometimes feel compelled to buy. >
I disagree. Saying the MOBA genre requires reactions of a hyperactive 14 year old (On Jolt no less) sounds like an excuse for being bad. I'm not here to try and sway you back to the genre, but that is an ignorant statement. >
You can't compare grinding in Vanilla with grinding now. Vanilla was actually fun. I really don't play MMO's anymore though. I havent found one that has what originally made me love MMO's. Raids with 40+ people, lots of guild activities etc. Now most MMO's are like 5-10 man stuff that is extremely easy. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. ;D
