It will be $21 for all 3 characters when this releases, but you don't need to buy them to play against them online. There are also character color packs, but I wouldnt pay money for colors. I'm not sure of the price for them, but its just a way for them to make some easy money in a very competitive genre.
Just like SSF4, Blazblue: CS was released at $40, the 3 DLC characters bring it up to just over $60 and that includes some comprehensive balance changes taken from a compeletely new arcade release for free, and honestly how will ads on menu screens affect the experience in any way. Some people are acting like in-game advertising has never been done before.
Anyone who plays bad company games could see this is obviously a marketing stunt by EA or DICE for battlefield, especially since it references the night that BF3 is being showcased at GDC.
Battlefield 3 is about to stab the modern warfare franchise and take its dog tags.
I really think both of you either misread my post or youre some kind of Sony fanboys?
Did you miss the whole story about tge Playstation Phone? Or the one about microsofy just releasing their own windows phone with xbox live and downloadable games the other day? Please read before you troll.
Sony has done too much damage to its image in North America to compete with Microsoft at this point. Kinect seems to have the casual market hypnotized with its innovation and big-name support and children still eat up Nintendo products. Now they expect to compete in the mobile phone/gaming market with the Apple powerhouse iPhone? Microsoft has already beat them to that, which sill suck up a considerable amount of the "hardcore" audience they'll certainly be targetting. The rest of which, along with children, will be completely dominated by the 3DS.
I just don't see how Sony can win this battle and become as relevant as they were in the Playstation 2 era.
I just wish you could go back and play the game in hardcore mode. You mention rating the experience, well that would have changed your experience a great deal, perhaps even improving it from a mediocre 7/10.
To make the point of the game not changing very much from fallout 3 in the header without having tried hardcore mode even for a few minutes is very disappointing. In my time playing so far, I've found myself playing the game much differently due to the new mechanics in hardcore mode along with the crafting and survival systems.
I also hink being able to aim down the sights is a pretty huge addition from a gameplay standpoint. Going out and hunting bloatflies and geckos to make some tasty sliders and steaks is much more enjoyable when i can actually aim and shoot them mysekf instead of having the game do it for me every time.
I haven't encountered any bugs yet, and its nice to know patches are on the way.
Well I haven't played it enough to see everything yet, but it definitely has changed more than that. From the new characters, story and stages, down to new techniques for existing characters and gameplay nuances. Even though they will cost money, the promise of upcoming DLC characters is still exciting, considering how unique they all tend to be.
@Dave Hinkle I appreciate the response, but I don't agree that a game's overall rating should be affected by how broad of an appeal it has. However, I can definitely respect that this is a review of your personal opinion and experience. Fighting games are not an easy genre to rate, I think.
