@serialsleeper I understand your complaint about the blue shell and other overpowered power-ups, however, these only get given to bad players who are in 6-8th place. If these players are meant to be in the back of the pack then these players will actually find themselves at the back yet again. In this sense, an experienced player who made a mistake during a race is able to make up for lost time. So while I understand the concern most bad players get to next to no help, if any at all, from the overpowered power-ups
