Ask Engadget HD: Should I buy a 720p HDTV?

Aug 14th 2010 1:06AM (Engadget HD)
Well, here's my two cents and it's simple and easy. Get a Blue Ray movie that highlights the full capability of the screens your looking at- say luke like, Transformers. Next, and this very obvious, but no one has brought it up. Check the videos settings to make sure that you are loooking at the best settings on the screens. Example, Samsung has a video setting for standard, movie and custom (there might be one more.) Adjust the screen so each screen is identical. Then look at the screens. I am almost sure that the screen settings need adjusting to suit your needs. That's how you can tell which screen is best for. I have two Samsungs, bigger in the livingroom smaller in the bedroom. They are both 1080 and they eat up everything, Blueray, DVD, Netflix streaming, PS3 and HD thru AT&T. I highly recommend Samsung1080, you will not any complaints, regardless of the price.

Report: OnLive valued at over a billion dollars

Aug 5th 2010 2:16PM (Joystiq)
Great news but honestly I believe it's a precursor for changing how we will "pay to play." Streaming is great for movies, but gaming is active participation. So, if we analylize the money we pay (collectively) for gaming - billions of dollars- then logicaly the gaming industry is preparing charge us a whole lot more for our thrill a minute habit. Via streaming! I think the industry is changing and we need to be prepared for the ocean of changes headed our way. Find your dictionary and delete the words/phrases cheap, low price or free.

NFL to stream every pre-season game in HD for $40

Jul 31st 2010 6:44PM (Engadget HD)
Check this out. Almost everything on TV -if you really search- can be watched for free. So, who in the hell will pay for Pre Season games? If you think about it, I guess if they can get us to buy water then we will buy anything. I need to stop being lazy and cancel cable, most of the shows I can get on Netflix, the Internet or iTunes.

Operation Flashpoint: Red River revealed in upcoming OXM

Jul 31st 2010 6:34PM (Joystiq)
They need to realize that their is super king called Modern Warfare II and they need to be on their P and Q's. I played OP:DR on PS3 and the first thing that showed me the game was made by the suckologist crew was the graphics. It was a down grade to sub- PS2. Everything else was expectedly disappointing. Yet, I can still remember playing Operation Flashpoint on the computer and was shocked at the realism and powerfully realistic sound (I had a 5 speaker system with sub- woofer- remember those days). Check this out though, Infinity Ward that created Modern Warfare II has been effectively disbanded, so their is always room for a new super king. Modern Warfare II set the bar to high for itself and others.
