Jan 18th 2011 3:32PM (Joystiq)Unfortunately, I don't believe that the DVD of Fido lets me call the zombie dog George, or hug, pet, squeeze or otherwise interact with the zombie pet. I would say that Majesco currently has the advantage here.

Jan 18th 2011 2:46PM (Joystiq)Also, I like to pick up DS games when on vacation in other countries, and this prevents me from doing that.
Lastly
1. Reduce the # of ways consumers can buy our product at a higher price. (I'm in the US)
2. ???
3. Profit (how?)
I guess that the fact that Nintendo knows what step 2 is makes them better bussiness men than me.
*Flameshield UP!*
Granted, the more info about the 3DS, the more I think that Nintendo is setting itself up to be defeated by Apple, in the same way that they defeated Sony.
And yes, there is very good possibility that iOS devices become the new dominant player in the Handheld market. There are a large number of good reasons, and I'll post them if anyone wants, but for now, this comment is already way to long
Portal 2 on PS3 features cross-platform chat, multiplayer and a free Steam copy
Jan 18th 2011 2:34PM (Joystiq)That sounded weird, but I still want a real Portal gun that would allow for much more sanitary surgical procedure amongst other things.
But, physics question, If I make a water wheel with a portal at the bottom and top, what would happen/ Given that perpetual motion is outlawed by the laws of reality, the Portal would have to expend energy greater than what is being generated by the water wheel. So, is it just that moving something through a portal requires as much passive energy as is being stored in the object with the change in relative position?
If that is true, then it would have have to work the opposite way as well. Now, how would energy be released by walking through a portal 1 mile in the air and it coming out into a house at sea level. Would the portal give it off through radiation? If so, then they would be useless in real life. But if we could harness that power, then we would have a transportation system that requires no more energy to make round trips in the real world under actual conditions (ignoring foreign bodies like air and other things, which actually introduces a new problem in this scenario, but more on that later). Imagine, you can walk to and from anywhere without any energy going to waste!
The problem of detritus in the air is that if two connected portals are in areas with different enough air pressure, then air would gust in from the higher pressure area to the lower pressure one. If there were enough of these, the environmental effects would be catastrophic, and all so you could get authentic Italian cuisine at a moments notice, asshole.
Of course, none of this matters if the Portals require more energy than just the amount that is being stored in the traveling object, in which case, I have no idea what would happen.
tl;dr, guy rambling about physics of a RL portal gun, you don't care, you probably shouldn't have read this either.
Fan-made Chrono Trigger sequel finds release
Jan 18th 2011 2:16PM (Joystiq)You know what, sure, I would think that it's a hell of a lot harder to mess up a gameplay system as good as Chrono Trigger's, and I could go for a good fanfic right now.
That said, I'll probably still be disappointed that it's not as good as the original novel Wicked. Yes, I realize how much of a dick that made me sound.

I think I should have said this:
"(which lead to the previously mentioned story being complete ass)"

Jan 18th 2011 1:53PM (Joystiq)I would have to disagree about the combat. While it's not as deep or well tuned as something like Ninja Gaiden, the use of spells offers some strategic depth, and it's usually very visually interesting if nothing else. The parry and roll systems are also well implemented and add a layer of depth.
Regardless of the combat's tactical depth, I still found the games to be fun enough to play that I could soldier through the shitty stuff (i.e. Everything else.)

Jan 18th 2011 1:49PM (Joystiq)This is a game that uses the one element of KH that I like (the combat) and eschews the retarded and incomprehensible story, terribly designed characters, half assed implementation of both sides of a potentially amazing crossover (eading to a game that somehow possesses one cheek), and still looks good?
It's like they read my mind!
