I must voice my most vehement disapproval to this idea. Like rogue pointed out before, this is a slap in the face of the "consistent world" paradigm. It will keep people from enjoying things together: as if they were in two different places. And isn't the point of a multiplayer game to get people together?
I would like to know why people think the first TMNT game "sucked balls" or "was terrible". I own it, and as far as I'm concerned, it's a decent platformer.
I really can't see how they can really "account" for lag. There will always, always, be at least a ~50ms lag, and while this may be insignificant for gameplay, it can make quite a difference musically.
Also, this brings back memories of Ultima VI. Who remembers playing Stones with their keyboard?
The person who died wasn't the one wishing to fight over Lineage 2. I was the one who tried to stop the other two from fighting. He certainly wasn't the "twit" of the bunch.
I'm getting rather annoyed even by the many knee-jerk, protective reactions of gamers all-around whenever the words "video game" are mentioned in a news story.
The mother said, quote: "PlayStation taught him to drive". She didn't say: "PlayStation made him a wild, uncontrollable and depraved child. PlayStation taught my kid to steal cars and kill hoes!". Just, and I will quote it again to make the point clearer: "PlayStation taught him how to drive".
So why are people coming around yelling: "Oh sure, blame GTA (Which wasn't mentioned)" or "You should be blaming your poor parenting!". She didn't BLAME the PlayStation, just identified as a likely cause. Maybe she bought him a driving wheel and pedal accessory and Gran Turismo, rated E for everyone.
"Gamers" need to stop trying to victimize themselves and believing that mainstrem media is out to get them.

Same thing for Canada. Laws do not get sent to courts unless they are actually passed.
