OMG: Shia LaBeouf totally 'not into' the Wii

That was great.

Gamers should not be music critics. They fail utterly at it.

FFXIII producer says FF franchise 'straddles genre,' not just a JRPG

May 5th 2009 8:36PM (Joystiq)
Yeah, not quite. The series may introduce new ideas with each iteration, and I appreciate that greatly when so few of its contemporaries are doing the same, but Final Fantasy is still firmly a JRPG, along with all the positive and negative connotations.

One more thing: Soulcalibur Broken Destiny heading to PSP

Even the PSP gets a true Soul Calibur IV fighter instead of the Wii? And after the Gamecuve version of 2 was the best selling version?

MadWorld sells 66K in March, Sega oddly pleased

Honestly, though, MadWorld is a perfect rent. Spend $8, beat it in a few days, return it. The game has very little replay value. I'm already regretting buying it for $50, I should've waited until the price dropped.

This is the funniest forum post I've seen in a very long time, intentional or not. Thank you for brightening my day.

Wait, SSBB is easy to pick up and play? I hear that a lot about the Super Smash Bros. series, but I've tried to get countless casual gamers into SSB, and it always ends disastrously. The controls are simple enough, but they don't have the fighting game experience and mindset to really understand it immediately. Plus, the pacing of the game, especially in Melee, is intense even for seasoned veterans. And then if you combine all that with the fact that they're playing against people who have, in all likelihood, sunk hundreds of hours into the series already and they're put in a position where they get bored quickly because they just can't get the mechanics down fast enough or well enough to have fun with it.

Mario Kart is a much more new-player friendly game.

Just to clarify Feba's sarcasm, because I don't think the original poster will get it, No More Heroes is getting a sequel and Resident Evil 4 has sold very well on the Wii, and is on track to outsell at least the Gamecube version if not the PS2 version as well.

I'm actually impressed that No More Heroes is getting a sequel. I own the game, and while I thought it had a great idea, which gave it potential to be a great game, poor design kept it back from achieving that potential. It's a testament to how good that original idea was to convince me to work (literally) through the boring, tedious parts to experience the great parts. Hopefully they'll put a LOT more work into the development for the sequel.

So even though you have no personal objections to the game, you refuse to buy it because you DO have a personal objection to a console that you spent $250 on? I'd point out how ridiculous that logic is, but the fact that you also think a full-sized, DVD based game could be offered as a downloadable title just demonstrates your thorough disregard for logic in general.

This actually isn't too shabby for a Clover/Platinum Studios game. The most they've ever managed out of a single installment was 200k+ for the Wii version of Okami (which is a better game anyhow).

I'd still rather it be more. I bought it. Probably not worth the $50, but there hasn't been much to buy for my Wii lately.
