Netflix for PlayStation 3 requires a disc, software solution coming late 2010

Maverick, actually, my 360 runs _quieter_ than my PS3, thanks to running games off the HDD. True, the DVD drive of the 360 is louder than the Bluray drive of the PS3 but the fans on the 360 are quieter than the fan on the PS3. but the DVD drive do not spin while running games of the HDD...

Nintendo sold enough DS systems in Japan for one-fifth of the population

I have three kids and they got (so far) 5 DS. Reason, they destroyed two already... I wonder how many of those 26.1 million are to replace those that got destroyed by kids (and grown ups)...

GE quietly delays premium HDTV line

Seeing such a TV brings back memory LOL. My dad bought and 'TV enlarger screen' that works similar to that 'big screen display'. To make it work, you had to turn the TV upside down and project its screen onto a lens than projection screen like that one. The only thing is the TV was a TUBE TV that broke down a few hours of watching the 'big screen'. Looks like the tubes didn't like being upside down LOL.

Is your Xbox 360 an E74 victim?

Mar 17th 2009 9:01PM (Joystiq)
August 2008? I had that 'issue' in February of last year. My 360 stayed at BestBuy for over two months only to come back unfixed (long story I don't want to delve into). Once I got it back, I wrapped a towel around it to make it overheat and cause a three red light error (which would have been covered). It ended up temporarily (a few months) fixing the console until it broke again and my 'old trick' didn't fix it. So I bought an arcade version (with HDMI) and being using that with my old 360 HDD ever since then.

Flame on: PS3 a 'sinking ship' (PSP, too)

Nutchos, for someone working in the home theatre department, you should know it's Blu-ray and not blueray. Wait, what? Best Buy you said? Oh sorry, I understand now...

NPD: PS3 sells 190k units in October

Nov 14th 2008 11:33AM (Joystiq Playstation)
I guess Europeans are stupid too since they are also buying more 360 than PS3. I guess you're the only intelligent one. I bow to your superior intellect ;-p

I guess you don't keep up with the news then regarding XNE and Arcade 360. MS will either send you a FREE 512MB (not 128MB) memory card or you will be able to buy a 20GB HDD for $20. All they'll need to do is enter their 12-digit serial number and the 12-digit Console ID on a web form...

I have all three as well, check my tag on both if you don't believe me. For me, the PS3 is for exclusive and multiplat games that runs better on it (I don't have many of those on my PS3). Each is own I guess but calling people stupid for their choice of console is kinda... stupid...

NPD: PS3 sells 190k units in October

What's the top two games for October on the 360? Two RPGs... What was the top selling game (by far) in Europe last week? A shooter...

NXE leaked, disables Xbox Live until Nov. 19

Nov 1st 2008 2:51PM (Joystiq)
Install games onto the HDD is the big feature for me, even with just a 20GB HDD, I had enough room to install Fable II, 5 demos and almost three years of game save.

Xbox 360 load time comparison: DVD vs. hard drive

Nov 1st 2008 9:12AM (Joystiq)
Got notified through email. Then when I turned on my 360 two evenings ago, I was greeted with an 'Update available' message. Took less than 10 minutes to download and install.
