Does the 3DS support Bluetooth HS technology along with the charging dock? Wires are inhibitive. Can you turn off the automatic Wi-Fi hotspot/3DS system sensor? I don't want people stalking my every movement should they find a way to manipulate the technology. Will there be GBA games available on the Virtual Console? Do the front-facing 3D cameras have optical zoom? If so, what is their focal length range? Am I the only one disappointed that the 3DS does not support 3G? Anything Nintendo releases will be on every kid's Christmas list, that won't change [I hope it would, but that's another topic entirely]. The internet will always be in-demand. Consider a reasonable monthly fee similar to that of mobile phones, but cheaper and Nintendo could easily turn a profit. Kids [I'm talking really young children] don't use the internet that much if at all, but their parents will still have to pay for the internet service, and older users are likely to use the web more, thus there's money to be made. How many Wi-Fi spots are there in London? You won't be seeing me in some McDonalds 'restaurant' with a 3DS in hand EVER. What are they thinking?! I like Japan's approach. Videogames are for adults, not kids. I'm moving to Japan...[not really :( It would be cool though :)]
I can just imagine sitting next to someone on the train playing this game hearing the constant sound of that monkey character rolling...that alone would drive me insane, therefore I hate this game in advance. Oh and the graphics do look crap.
Is it too much to ask for "some fun and some substance" instead of "all fun and no substance" from Nintendo? The line-up for the 3DS looks poor.
It's my prerogative for not liking the 3DS and I've given my reasoning. If you disagree then fine, that's your choice, but seeing as my argument is stronger...I'll let the people decide for themselves. I'm not the first person not to like the 3DS, stop being so melodramatic! The console simply doesn't interest me. Take away the 3D which I already feel is a gimmick and what you're left with is a more powerful DS/Wii offspring and I have my doubts that they'll be enough games on it that'll cater to my tastes. To be honest, I don't believe 3D technology suits portable consoles very well. The screens are way too small and the believability of the gamer being right in the midst of a virtual world so-to-speak is lost whereas on, for example, 50in SAMOLED screens the illusion is much better. You can't really have 3D 1st person shooters or adventure games on a 3DS, can you? That said, they'll probably be made, but I think they'll be terrible. It's like Metroid Prime: Hunters on the DS. Everything's all squashed onto a tiny little screen. Besides, the 3D effect is totally being exagerrated by people who don't know what they're talking about. I'm no expert, but how is looking at the screen at different angles anything special? I can see keys in Mario games only appearing when you look at the screen a particular way, Splinter Cell style games where you can look over you shoulder and stuff like that, but at the end of the day it's nothing revolutionary. It's just a camera trick. The 3DS could never excite me when the technology used is outdated by about 4 years. That said, if I bought into the 3D aspect then perhaps, just perhaps I might go out and buy one, but I don't and that's where Nintendo has lost a loyal customer. I feel Sony have a lot more up-and-coming developers on board and they will bring creativity to the table when they make games for the PSP2.
- 3D gimmick that will get old FAST as an intelligent person has mentioned already. Thick consumerists are getting all excited and buying into Nintendo's marketing ploy. They're masters at this. You're all going to be very disappointed as I was with the paper thin game library of the DS and the most of the games that were any good were first party games. Nintendo lacks 3rd party support. I'm not talking about major companies. I'm talikng about up and coming companies who want to innovate and be creative to break into a market which is domintaed by companies who already have a huge fanbase and recycle the same crap because their customers demand it. Sony, on the other hand, is a much better platform for new companies because there's no one restricted audience like Nintendo who are more of a specialised company with a specific target audience.
- Small screen/no HD
- Badly designed thumbstick.
- Ugly looing thing. I'll look real swarve on the tube with this brick in my hand, won't I?
- Kiddy games. Nothing challenging on the horizon. Ocarina of Time 3DS? That was good in it's day, I have one copy unopened, but I want something a little deeper now I'm older, you know? Nintendo can't offer that.
PSP2 will eat this thing alive, 3D or not, touchscreen or not, the vast array of games will be enough to win this battle if you can even call it that. The 3DS won't flop, in fact it will sell well amongst a younger audience, but it's not for me. You can't really compare the two as they're aimed at different people and I anticipate something big with the PSP2.
