Gaikai delivering FIFA 12 demo through YouTube (Or: The future cometh!)

Oct 22nd 2011 2:21PM (Joystiq)
Anyone compare the latency to OnLive? Either its me or this demo ran a lot better than what I've tried with OnLive. (FYI I'm using Time Warner Cable/Road Runner in Rochester, NY.)

@Dickhole Pasta There are not. I believe Microsoft themselves are publishing this according to the Joystiq info box.

Report: Japanese retailers backing away from Xbox 360

@tendoboy1984 I believe when type2red said "shumps" he was not talking about First Person Shooters (COD, Halo, Half-Life, etc,) rather he was referring to scrolling shooters (Gradius, R-Type, etc.) However I am not sure if "horrible FPS" means bad Frames Per Second (a problem few and far between on the PS3) or lack of FPS's (a totally wrong statement.)

I have a bad feeling that "built on a brand new engine" = running on the Call of Duty engine.

Mega Man Legends 3 Project canceled

@JnRx Look, I'm not trying to sound like i'm standing up for Capcom (I'm not) but frankly, the combined "monies" of the MML fanbase will never please Capcom, as they (and pretty much most/all other large publishers) will not pursue games that do not market towards the current, largest, mainstream, audience. Sadly, the videogame industry has become the movie industry. 90% of everything is designed to sell towards the largest audience, and any "niche" ideas (which I generally will put MML into IMO) being ignored or handled by indie studios.

Rage 'The Dawn' trailer breaks over the horizon

I really think that RAGE will mark the start of a new "golden" age for id Software. You have to admit, id hasn't really made a true "homerun" game after Quake 3 (DOOM3 was average in my opinion, and Quake 4 was not that good either, although Raven Soft. made it.) I do admit RAGE looks very Fallout-ish, however I really think that it will be id's comeback.

Volition holds Red Faction: Armageddon's magical, rainbow-farting unicorn hostage

May 3rd 2011 11:59PM (Joystiq)
@mcnichoj Precisely. This whole "weapon"(?) was probably designed to ride off My Little Pony's new found Internet popularity.

Also, I'm not even sure if this demo would get 1,000,000 downloads considering that Red Faction is not really a massive franchise.

Also, any news on a PC Demo?

Portal 2 launching slightly earlier on PC as a result of 'GLaDOS@Home'

Apr 18th 2011 5:49PM (Joystiq)
@RogueJedi86 You forgot about the beginning with Gabe Newell. See, Episode 3's constant delay was part of a worldwide conspiracy that would allow George Broussard and Gabe Newell to merge into one, thus enabling the two of them to hold the world hostage by delaying Duke Life 2 Forever: Episode 3. GlaDOS was just a distraction that George and Gabe set up to stop Chell from finding them. She finds them in the first level, however she is killed right as she enters the room. The rest of the game is a FCS (First Cube Shooter) from The Companion Cube's perspective, as it tries to avenge her daughters death and stop George and Gabe from releasing Duke Life 2 Forever: EP3. All the gameplay videos released was only from the first level (which is only 5 minutes long.)
