BioWare's Laidlaw: DA2 'Legacy' DLC is a response to fan complaints

Aug 5th 2011 10:01PM (Joystiq)
What I don't really understand about his stance is this: "Legacy" is a response to the people who hated the completely recycled dungeons. Therefor he's saying that if people didn't complain about the environments, "Legacy" would have also used them.

Which is BS, of course. "Legacy" isn't a response to anything. If BioWare, even for one second, considered using the same environments in DLC that they did in the main game they'd have made one of the biggest hack decisions in the recent history of game development.

"Legacy" has the dungeons they intended it to have from the start. BioWare was not throwing quests for "Legacy" in the same dungeons as the main game when someone pointed out all the complaints they got about those dungeons and they spontaneously decided to make brand new environments. "Legacy" is only what it was from the start.

Well, its going to be weird hearing Batgirl as Harley.

THQ confirms 'Metro: Last Light' as Metro 2033 sequel

May 3rd 2011 6:19PM (Joystiq)
Makes sense, I don't think the Metro 2034 book has much to do with the Metro 2033 book at all.

Red Faction: Origins trailer defies our expectations

Still more people above me who don't actually know what a Sci-Fi Original Movie is.

Of course the movie still looks pretty weak.

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine preview: Into the fray

Apr 20th 2011 7:21PM (Joystiq)
@John Magnum And then people would think "What the hell is this supposed to mean?"

Space Marine gets the point across, plainly, simply, and better than any of the more esoteric elements from 40K.

Rebellion giving Sniper Elite sequel a shot next year

Huh, that's something unexpected. I certainly enjoyed Sniper Elite, even if it was quite rigid at times in the way you need to complete a level.

Volition returns to in-house PC development

Mar 17th 2011 9:59PM (Joystiq)
While I realise that a lot of PC ports are developed seperately I'm well past the point of believing any multiplatform developer bar Valve when they say the PC version is important. Voliton has a lot of catching up to do.

No Marc Alaimo? Not interested!

Battlefield 3 trailer - nearly three minutes of gameplay

Mar 2nd 2011 3:55AM (Joystiq)
Dunno where you see a cover system in there, Joystiq, the player is clearly simply moving himself in and out of that corner.

While multiplayer is obviously the major draw for any Battlefield, I'm also interested in the co-op campaign, or the main campaign being co-op, or whatever it was.

And yes, it certainly looks spiffy.
