SSX review: The odd couple

Feb 28th 2012 6:02PM (Joystiq)
Sounds like they went for a sense of realism in the "extreme" sense that doesn't quite make for good gameplay.

Going down an uncharted mountain at fast speeds and treacherous heights is bound to be "littered with sheer dropoffs" and unruly parts. But the devs might have took it a bit too far, if you know what I mean. Despite being "extreme", they pushed the idea into areas of realism that kind of break it a bit.

I'll probably rent the game, and give it my own judgement. I'm sure its still fantastic and gives a good adrenaline rush, along with a sense of accomplishment.

PlayStation Vita Facebook app pulled from PSN

It's a very nice app. One of the best I've seen for Facebook, but its incredibly slow I find. Perhaps there are some issues that didn't meet standards or maybe even security flaws?

Buy two Vita games, get one free at Amazon

DAMN!
Now I have to play return swap to Amazon. I bought Uncharted and Rayman already.

Guess I'll buy Uncharted and Rayman again~, get Wipeout for free. Then return Uncharted and Rayman.

Halo 4 to feature one heavy Master Chief

Feb 16th 2012 9:21PM (Joystiq)

Is this saying that Master Chief will move just as slow as he already does (the inverse of nimble)?

Or is this saying that Master Chief is getting HEAVIER armor but will move quicker?

What about people who bought the game retail? No love?

Rumor: Japanese Vita devs jumping ship, Sony responds

Feb 16th 2012 12:33PM (Joystiq)
@(Unverified) It is truly amazing how fantastic the Vita feels both physically and on the software side of things.
For example:
This device has the BEST multitasking UI function I've ever seen on any device out there. Suspending apps including full Vita games is a press of a button, and returning to them is a flick of a finger. Closing them out is a super smooth slide from the corner of the screen across.

I open and then close apps on purpose because its so awesome.

Here are the PSP games that will work on Vita at launch [update: more compatible games spotted]

Peace Walker (Not PEACH Walker) works on the Vitas in Japan. I'm willing to bet it's either not included on the list or it will be working soon.

Same goes for LBP. There is no reason for them not to work. Unlike Kingdom Hearts which isn't even digital to begin with.
