MS has some great products that are a result of 20 years of evolution. They don't need a store front as their products aren't revolutionary in changing the industry in a short period of time. I would love to go to a MS museum. They have a rich history. Their past is more interesting than their future.
For anyone who is still unsure the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch are not real gaming devices, check out Infinity Blade with anti-aliasing and shadowing that rivals consoles. And how about Rage HD? You can't do that on a 3DS. The iPad 2 has passed the 3DS before it even gets started. If 3D does stick around, which is yet to be decided, everyone knows it will be an option for developers to tap into on the iPad 3 hardware.
I wonder if this means Apple will be releasing a new iPhone 4 across the board with the new antennae configuration in 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB and stop selling the 3GS?
If you're experiencing these issues, you may want to make sure you don't have a faulty phone. It can happen. I haven't experienced this or know anyone who has and most of the people I know have the iPhone 4. Especially dropping Facetime calls. Facetime doesn't even use AT&T or 3G. It's all through your Wi-Fi. Could be a problem with your wireless router at home or the Internet carrier you use.
It's true that not all features will work on all phones, but you know the features that matter most for running almost all apps still work on all iPhones except the original 2007 model which has been discontinued. Even apps that support multitasking will run on a 3G which doesn't support it. You just can't switch between apps. You know the drivers are going to work and the buttons are going to be the same and that's something you can't rely on with Android. I'm an Apple Developer so I can tell you it's pretty easy to make something work across all supported iPhones. My friends who are "dabbling" in the Android development are getting their lunch eaten by trying to make apps work across all 124 configurations of Android. I don't know anyone who isn't a direct partner of Google who would say Android fragmentation isn't a problem.
All great comments here. And a great article on this Motorola Madness. I'm starting to feel like they're an old company that never grew up. They've pointed out a couple of interesting points though. The iPhone is the highest selling and highest in customer satisfaction of any smartphone in the world, topping any of the Droids by leaps and bounds so connecting it to the iPad is a great thing. And the iPad was built on an OS that was optimized for tablets so the iPad has that one covered too. They've really just eaten their own lunch with anyone who knows what they're talking about. For those who don't, they don't understand anyway. You really just have to vehemently hate Apple to ignore these things.
