Warner Music wants more money for licensed songs

Aug 8th 2008 4:16PM (Joystiq)
Why should they get more money? It's not like I get a copy for my MP3 player when I buy Rockband DLC; it's stuck on my 360 in a game. I have to hit all the notes just to hear the song properly.

Let me have a copy of the music to listen to outside of the game then we'll talk about raising the price.

Fanswag Weekly: Win Ikaruga for XBLA!

Ikaruga. I had to get the Ikaruga Appreciate DVD as well since I appreciate it so much (imported, at the time, for an obscene amount of money).

EA to remove online servers for 49 games

Aug 3rd 2007 4:12PM (Joystiq)
This is Microsoft & Sony's fault.

They should have stipulated to 3rd party companies that in order to have access to the online functionality of their systems they need to keep the supporting servers active for at least the life of the system.

Or something like 3 years or the remaining life of the system; whichever is longer. That way games released during the last year of the lifespan of a console will still be supported for a decent amount of time.

Weekly Webcomic Wrapup: Letters Edition

@magilacudy

I think the Gameboyz comic is making fun of a character in Zelda Twilight Princess with a name that isn't very Zelda-like: Colin.

Readers pick best webcomic (July 30 - August 5, 2006)

Aug 8th 2006 3:27PM (Joystiq)
The winning comic got my vote purely for how hard that first frame with Reggie made me laugh. Nothing else made me laugh out loud like that.

I say the picture for this article should be changed to that frame of the comic.

Dead Rising not banned, facing unique 'unrated' status in Germany

There's nothing wrong with the post; I fail to see how that sentence is contradictory. I may be confusing, but that is one of the points of the article. I think the picture associated with the article says it all.

Convoluted laws that try to control what people are exposed to and the stupid groups and governments that try to push them need to go away. I don't understand why people in free countries want their governments to control this kind of thing; a responsible person/parent can figure it out on their own.

Germany, Australia, New Zealand, the US, and I'm sure many other 'free' countries seem to be creeping more and more to this kind of control. It's irritating.

Collectible Metroid statue; where's Samus?

Jun 16th 2006 8:25PM (Joystiq)
These stupid hunters remind me too much of that Bionicle garbage Lego puts out these days. These figurines are just as stupid as the lego, right down to their goofy names.

Multiplayer in Metroid doesn't make any sense. The game is about a solitary adventure; I wish it would have stayed that way.
