Need to read better--at first glance I assumed this was about Victor Ireland and his GaijinWorks company increasing in size. "They sure aren't doing much with 2000 employees," I thought.
If you take away the "realistic" cut scene footage, this is actually pretty cute, what with the swirling colorful hordes and whatnot.
Something that I think is really important to what made Pikmin so fun and interesting is the ability to split up your party and give certain Pikmin different tasks to do. It was not a "fighting" game where the main character is composed of a variable number of tiny guys (which is what this seems to be), it was an RTS with a hands-on interface. This is a quality Little King's Story is completely missing, and it looks like this will be similar.
I'm really excited for this game, but in this particular run of screen shots (the same ones that appeared on Sega's blog--not really hot from the GamesCom oven) it's really hard to tell what I'm looking at. Ice level, ok. Ninja in front of moon--cool. Castle with... black spaces? Is that a hole? What? Not exactly feeding my enthusiasm, Sega!
I'd really like to know more about the features of this version over the DS version that I already love--besides the polished visuals, how different is it? I heard they'd changed up some of the character abilities, how different are we talking here?
Now I am really curious. Would a giant stone finger of that size entering Earth's atmosphere actually burn visibly as it entered? Would it be moving nearly fast enough? Would the size of it alone mean that it was moving that fast simply because of the scale, or would it even be visible on something of that size?
I've often wondered what it would be like to grab a planet, these are pressing issues!
I'm still waiting for a game that's as insane as Road Blaster that's in real time. Is it even possible? Plus I just admire the ridiculousness of it all. Driving through a shopping mall while giant semi trucks bust through the walls? Forced off the road into a corn field full of threshing machines? Escaping into the sewer only to discover that it's already filled with enemy cars and (swear to god not kidding) Zamboni Machines?! This should be the starting point of every modern racing game!
Poor internet connections shouldn't be a problem as long as the game takes note of the difference between quitting when you're losing and quitting when you're winning. I used to have a poor internet connection that dropped me every now and then, but it always seemed like to dropped me when I was winning. :/
