EA's Riccitiello predicts fewer titles per year, harder push for digital distribution {Joystiq}

Dec 2nd 2009 3:32PM You must have a great Gamestop if they're paying $40 for a used game (CoD MW2 *maybe*.) Hell, I doubt they'd even give you that much for a Tony Hawk Ride package at this point.

EA's Riccitiello predicts fewer titles per year, harder push for digital distribution {Joystiq}

Dec 2nd 2009 3:29PM "Riccitiello believes packaged games like Madden NFL will always have a following, but that digital distribution will account for half the industry in 2010..."

It's funny because Madden (and Tiger, FIFA, et al) are the ONLY franchises in EA's arsenal that actually SHOULD be digitally distributed, as opposed to packaged. Of course, they're all guaranteed sellers year after year so obviously that'll never happen (unless they can come up with some way to make you subscribe a la WoW.)

New Medal of Honor promises 'most authentic modern war experience' {Joystiq}

Dec 2nd 2009 2:07PM If they alternate them every other year like Activision has been doing with Treyarch and IW's CoD games, Sony has been doing with Resistance and Killzone, or MS has been doing with Halo and Gears, they should both sell just fine.

Ubisoft planning 10 games for Natal, '4 to 5' for PlayStation Motion Controller {Joystiq}

Nov 30th 2009 3:17PM In Facebook users' defense: you kind of have to do status reports in third person, since it starts it with your name. Otherwise you'd have to switch mid sentence and it becomes thirst-person, which is not really a thing.

PS. facebook is lame.

Ubisoft planning 10 games for Natal, '4 to 5' for PlayStation Motion Controller {Joystiq}

Nov 30th 2009 3:12PM But there are practical applications for even "hardcore" games, if you feel like putting the work in. I mean, just last week when I was rerunning through an empty level on Dragon Age to get back to a locked chest, I thought, "Wouldn't it be great if I could just use motions to run around instead of having to hold forward on the control stick for 5 straight minutes?" Or be able to navigate through menus by just pointing and motioning instead of having to use the controller? Maybe I'm just thinking of this stuff now because my hands are starting to carpal tunnel up from all this Q4 gaming.

Guitar Hero 5 and Band Hero: December DLC {Joystiq}

Nov 30th 2009 3:00PM If you think I'm being sarcastic, you've obviously never heard any of those bands before.

Nov 30th 2009 2:55PM I wonder if someone'll make a peripheral that will smack Topsu through internet for referring to himself in third-person
