Report: Mirror's Edge 2 rejected by EA (oh, and Happy Valentine's Day!)
Feb 14th 2011 1:17PM (Joystiq)The first Mirror's Edge is literally my favourite game of all time - I was desperately looking forward to the sequel. So just another FPS then? Yeah - the World doesn't have enough of those...

Nov 8th 2010 2:07PM (Joystiq)Preview: Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock
Jul 29th 2010 5:51PM (Joystiq)Also, surprised how biased the author of this topic was. I've played Guitar Hero and Rock Band a LOT and I'm ranked amongst the top players on the PSN on them and I still much prefer Guitar Hero. For me the whole game just feels a lot nicer when playing...maybe it's just because I played GH before RB though so I'm more used to it. However, it's impossible to deny that the GH instruments are far superior to the RB ones (the Band Hero drums are anyway...the GHWT ones were far too unreliable).
All Rock Band fan-boys seem to have the same attitude - Rock Band is perfect and Guitar Hero sucks. There are several flaws with Rock Band also you know (horrible graphics and characters, crap guitar controller, only 1 level of hyperspeed, far-from-ideal online system even though it's better than GH's, also releasing sub-par games - the Beatles, Green Day and Lego).
I do agree that a lot of the new features and silly storylines are totally unnecessary - but I think activision feel they need to add something new to each release otherwise people (casual players anyway) will see no purpose in buying it. For me, I doubt I'll even play career mode...just stick to quickplay.
I do have to agree to some extent about the Tony Hawks-ing of the series though. They just seem to be releasing several sub-standard games as opposed to the ocassional brilliant one.
Anyway, I've waffled on for long enough now so I'm gonna call this message done.
