I stood in the Gamestop my best friend is the manager of and told him that I absolutely would not buy that game as he tried his best to get me to pre-order it. After 20 minutes or so, I decided "Okay... I'll give this CoD a shot; But I swear to all that is holy if this game sucks, I will NEVER purchase another Call of Duty game ever again." I got the game, played it..
Its the SAME thing. IMHO, Black Ops was better than MW2, but thats like saying its the smartest peanut in the turd.
Fact is, these games are stale. It took me not even 2 hours of online play and I was bored already, of the same tired-out gameplay I've seen from this series for 4 years now. Now they want to try and force feed us Modern Warfare 3? We're already talking about this and Black Ops hasn't even been out a full 6 months yet. These people are making crap games and all they care about is banking off of the stupid masses to flock in on release day and beyond to buy this garbage.
I refused to buy their shittfy map packs, and I'm NOT giving another dollar to this franchise. I realize how little my lack of contribution will make, but I care not.
It just seems like so many games are going this route. I was so excited for Halo: Reach, as I'm a big-time Halo player.. but that game was also garbage. "Reach is Bungie's Swan Song!" My ass. I don't care if meta-critic or ANY site gave these games high reviews. EVERY "huge selling" title gets rave reviews but don't deserve it. Take GTA4 for instance, getting a perfect 10 from GI, when it didn't even deserve a 7.
Can we go back to making games that are new, fun, and unique now, or are we spiraling downward with an industry that only cares about ripping off those of us that made it the success it is today? I mean, for God's sake, its almost become the STANDARD to put out a half-finished game for $60 and then charge out the ass for the other half of the game, and call it DLC.
Between crappy re-makes, crappier sequels, and crappy DLC, I'm just sick of it all..
I don't really think it's "milking" the franchise, as this is actually one of the most exciting things I've heard in a long time regarding Halo. I was 11 years old when I played the first Halo long loooooong ago, and it was one of the only games I beat OVER and OVER again, even though I had done so plenty of times. I remember going through on legendary with JUST the God-Pistol. Good times.
I'm not holding my breath for online multiplayer, because with Reach being only a year old at the time of this launch I don't think they'd do that. If they did, I'm PRETTY sure most Halo players would play CE Online and leave the garbage that is Halo 3 and Reach in the dust. All of these kids online don't know what Halo is since more than half of them never played 2 on LIVE. Now THOSE were the good ol' days. Halo had speed, and the weapons actually killed things.
Ahhh....
None-the-less, this would definitely be a Day One buy for me, even if its made by Saber. Its not like they're making the game from the ground up, just giving the old girl some much needed TLC.
@Drakkenfyre These are my thoughts exactly. By releasing the second game on multiple platforms I feel like they're trying to expand on the success of the orginal Crysis, which as a business decision isn't half-bad..
Buuuuuutttttt, the demo is filled with problems, which completely sucks because the game has a lot of promise. I just feel like they're going to do what every other company does: Promise changes, retail will be EXACTLY like the demo, they'll promise post-launch support, they won't deliver, and a game that could have been very epic will find its way to the bargain bin with other scrubbed out shooters.
I don't see the issues in this demo being resolved anytime before March.
How about fixing the rest of the laundry list of problems with the demo, like:
-Major Lag -Terrible Hit Detection -The fact that "Air Stomp" is basically useless -The absolutely horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE frame rate -The fact that magazine size on weapons makes mid to long range gunplay completely impossible
Just a few of the issues I personally experienced.
I played Crysis on my homeboy's PC a couple of times, and I don't ever recall it being as bad as this. I have such high hope for the game, because its very promising.. I just hope these things don't appear in the final product. I wouldn't even mind the game being pushed back if these issues would get resolved.
I don't get it. If it were on the PS3 first, the 360 whiners would be out.
I own a 360, and I had to wait to get Scott Pilgrim vs The World when it was on PS3 for an exclusive amount of time, and I had NEVER played that game before.
