Nintendo's new Zelda falls flat

Nov 12th 2006 1:56AM (Joystiq)
@165. "[...]the Zelda formula became utterly trite and boring. I mean, it's simple: Find item A, use item A to "unlock" dungeon A, explore dungeon A, find item B, defeat boss A using item B, use item B to "unlock" dungeon B, etc. etc. [...]"

--Funny, but doesn't Oblivion have the same principle? Do quests, get experience points/items, do sidequests, go to different areas.. wash, rinse, repeat...

"What I want to see is true next-generation gameplay (and I don't mean motion controls tacked on to the same tired ideas. I mean new gameplay ideas and concepts.)"
-- Motion-sensor control - opens up NEW gameplay. Graphics make things prettier; gameplay maes things more fun.

"Vlad's right, we shouldn't have to press A to read a roadsign anymore. We shouldn't have to click through pages and pages of text displayed three lines at a time to continue the story. "
- Do you prefer cutscenes/cinematics then? (see Xenosaga; and bring popcorn).

"It's sad... I play a game like Oblivion, which delivers a story and a sense of adventure on a grand scale, and then I play Zelda and it's like I've warped back to 1993."
--It's sad to see a person being so close-minded but oh well..

Man, reading the posts in here is a just a waste of time..

to the OP:
a) Way to go! This is a great way to start ANOTHER debate on graphics vs. gameplay (/sarcasm)

b) Nintendo Fanboys: whatever they say here, I'm 100% sure you guys don't care anyway. I'm pretty sure by next week you will play the gem called *The Legend of Zelda*

"Oh my! Wii does not have the graphic capabilities of PS3/Xbox360" - Tell us something we don't know.

To Everyone:
Sorry to tell you guys buy you have just wasted 10 mins of your time that you'll never get back...

The future of high-definition gaming

Oct 31st 2006 8:59PM (Joystiq)
Contrary to popular belief, there are other necessities people buy OTHER than an HDTV.

Hell, I work full time and study part time (also paying rent and utilities). I don't have the money to buy a $600 PS3 or a $400 Xbox 360 and an HDTV to get the FULL experience (from what I've heard).

Obviously I'm getting a Wii and that's it. My 4yr old TV still works perfectly and does the job.

Lik-sang responds: Sony "marched all over us"

I forgot to add:

Was Sony (bleep) by doing this? YES

** And I'm a Nintendo Fanboy, not a Sony Fanboy

Lik-sang responds: Sony "marched all over us"

Oct 26th 2006 10:26PM (Joystiq)
Here's the thing guys:

Lik-Sang is a legitimate (reseller) company who did something illegal based in European laws. Why European laws while Lik-Sang is Hong Kong based? It because resellers have to obide the rules in whatever country they will to sell products/merchandise to.

Did what Sony do to Lik-Sang overkill? Perhaps.
Did what Lik-Sang do (by selling PS3's to Euro gamers illegal).. The judge thought so.
Does Lik-Sang have grounds to appeal? Absolutely.
Did Sony REALLY have to sue Lik-Sang? NO; hell PS3's have been sold yet.. unless I missed it and it's out already..

- That being said, it sucks like hell to lose Lik-Sang.
