so you don't think rushing unfinished games out is not going to hurt the industry wow. Why do you think Soul Calibur 4 lost it's value so fast or how do you explain Soul Calibur 3 and it's data corruption problem? how about the unbalanced gameplay and broken characters in the both of them? don't get me wrong I absolutely love the characters and design of the series and obviously that is why it sells as well as it does hence why the longer story mod would have helped . but like many other games of recent years it lacks in content for the sake of a quick sell instead of holding to the high quality standard set by the first Soul Calibur.
It would have been a risk. If the series did not already have a huge fan following. if anything making a more fully featured game would have netted better review scores from casual gamers and reviewers look how well MK sold as an example it was geared toward casual gamers with enough depth to attract competitive players and yes no game will ever get released without some kind of cut content but the question is how much is too much as in this case eliminating 75% of a mode is a bit much.
Honestly rushing games to meet avoidable deadlines is what is killing the industry. They should have waited to release the game i would have rather waited and had a fully finished game than one that has cut content. In this case 75% of the story and who knows what else they had to cut because of the deadline they just told us about this one.
I know most of the industry needs to take a look at what CDProjekt is doing they are against drm, vocal with fans don't troll and they want their customers to get the most out of their games with out having to buy the same game more than once (Capcom) or buy an unfinished product that feels like parts are excluded for DLC (EA) oh never mind that's most of the games released recently. Well anyways to the point can't wait to spend my money on Witcher 3
I think the reason they are going off the deep end is because instead of putting out a quality game they just want to make as much money as they can regardless of what the fans think. Just look at Capcom and its DLC practices things that would have made the game better are being taken out and charged for. 10 years ago the (DLC) would have been included in the first place for free. not only that (Capcom) comes to mind recently are shitting on their older IPs Megaman comes to mind instantly the reason I think this is occurring is a lot of the the older game designers are being pushed out creatively just look at what happen to Keiji Inafune. he had to leave Capcom to express his creativity the creator of one of the best game franchises of all time. If your running a company and Inafune said he want to make a game would you turn him down hell no you would say what kind of team do you need. well any way I think I made my point. basically damn bethsoft and the horse armor it rode in on.
i'll tell you on thing at the retail of $40 it's well worth the money hell I would even pay double that. CD Projekt did an amazing job on the game and i'm hoping they release the dev tools soon as with them it's going to give the Witcher 2 basically infinite replay value.
I have to say this is completely unfair to the consumer when buying the product new it should include all features. So basically what EA is doing is collecting more money off the sell of new games which i'm almost positive is a grey area legally.
