The ESRB ratings below AO are just guidelines; "T" is a note to parents that the material "may be suitable for children 13 and up." That's it. It's up to the parents if the kid gets to play the game, and somehow, I'll bet this child's parents were all too happy to see this particular wish granted.

Jesus CHRIST. Enough talk about the current 360 hardware model being made "obsolete" by the new sku.

I sure know a hell of a lot of people how are some able to fully enjoy their Photo iPods, even though the Video iPod has been on the market for over a year now. Nothing is "obsolete"- the core function of the product is unchanged- MS is just able to enhance functionality as technology costs allow.

Jesus, you people.

Also- this has nothing to do with "getting your specs wrong". MS' placed their bet on launching a year earlier than Sony, knowing full well the competition would be able to claim the technology advantage in some areas when they finally did launch.

Now, you're just beginning to see all that bet affords them- a 5 million unit lead in the US, and the ability to manage price drops and hrdwre revisions even before the PS3 gets fully off the ground.

I've had mine since December, and unfortunately it hasn't been turned on more than once or twice since I completed Resistance. (mostly for my son to play Lemmings...) Lack of software is obviously the main factor there, but the machine feels so... solitary after a year of Xbox Live on 360.
When all of your friends are obsessing over achievements in Crackdown or some crazy match in Gears of War or whatever, it makes it tough for the PS3 to grab any attention.
Been looking forward to Motorstorm though- and I have high hopes that Lair will be awesome.

At least with Viva Pinata, Rare has finally produced a decent game, sales bomb or not. What was their last good game before that? The N64 Conker game? They didn't do jack on Gamecube or Xbox. (or 360, until Pinata)

May go down as one the most legendary wastes of money in this industry. Rare was totally out of gas by the time MS bought them- here's hoping the new leadership can breathe some creative fire into the place.

This shouldn't really surprise anyone.
Resistance is a fun game, much better than most Microsoft fanboys would suggest, but one of the first things you think when you play it is "why is this taking up 20GBs of space?"

Agreed. I'm sure that hiring a separate studio to handle the conversion duties is driving some of the economics here, but this just isn't going to sell at $60.

Not when games like Rainbow Six Vegas, Gears of War, and Call of Duty 3 ship a week later.
