'Peanuts: Happiness is Warm Blanket': The First Post-Charles Schulz Peanuts Comics [Preview]

Apr 6th 2011 8:34PM (ComicsAlliance)
I remember when Charles Schulz passed away that it was reported that no one would be allowed to draw a new Peanuts comic strip or create new original stories with these characters, per the creator's wishes. The cartoons that have been made following his death have all been taken faithfully from comic strips and existing story materials. So now we have a comic adaptation of a faithfully adapted cartoon. The 5-10% new material is likely to tie the scenes together a little more strongly. But yes, this is old stuff in new wrapping.

I haven't been following Invincible, but is the scourge virus something that turns you black? Cuz if it is, that's clearly a racist virus he's got there, and we should write the Image editors.

Cyborg... still DC's best-known black hero.

They should have him go through a story arc where he takes on the new persona of "Mr. Diversity."

You don't know Johnny Load? He's only been having adventures with Scooby Doo and ninjas for, like, ever!

Johnny Load, ninjas, and Scooby Doo even have a star-studded Christmas special also starring the chipmunks, Mario & Luigi, and the Tick's eyes.

But whatever you do, don't type "Johnny Load" in Google like I did. Turns out theres' more than one Johnny Load, and you don't want to know the other's super power :(

EA introduces one-time-use 'Online Pass' for sports games

It's an interesting tactic for EA to try to recoup resale dollars. I wouldn't mind a scheme like this so long as it forces GameStop to lower their resale price by an equivalent amount. Then all that would happen is that the profits shift back to the developers, and there would be no net difference in payments for the consumer.

Games like Lego Rock Band have pioneered a little bit in this area by selling $10 (or similar) codes that allow you to import content to other games in the series. As most players probably do own another Rock Band, the developers can possibly make some profit on resale that they would otherwise never make. But EA's model actually encourages resold games to be priced lower, whereas the "import code" does not.

Strangely stirring, though I have no idea what is going on. I suddenly have a new respect for owls. And here I thought they just ate rats.
