Rumor: Ubisoft releasing Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia trilogies on PS3

@HardBoiled2009 - Because, as you know, this is the first time a game in a franchise has appeared on a platform competing against the platform(s) earlier games were released for.

How have we managed when infinitely more important franchises such as Dragon Quest, Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, Ninja Gaiden, Contra, Banjo-Kazooie, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera ... have done the exact same thing?!?

If you care that much about the the story in Splinter Cell (someone has to I guess) buy an Xbox 360 and play the one game that you won't be able to get on PS3 at the moment.

Having owned and played MGS1 / Twin Snakes on GameCube, Sons of Liberty: Substance on Xbox, Snake Eater: Subsistance on PS2, and Guns of the Patriots on PS3, I don't see the big deal.

Trophies for Chaos Theory would be well fun. There are fewer greater pleasures than getting 100% on a level. Would be awesome if online play returned as well!

Not looking forward to the idea of playing Pandora Tomorrow again though, such rubbish compared to CT and the original. It's only redeeming quality being the online mode. Hope this is real, would love the PoP set as well.

If you like the old-school Sonic games, it's absolutely worth checking out Sonic Advance, Advance 2, and Advance 3, and Sonic Rush & Rush Adventure.

... the hell was that thing following Tails?!

But yeah, this game doesn't look too bad. As long as it isn't the same trial and error gameplay of the Unleashed daytime stages, it might even be fun.

@Themoreyouknow - This looks different enough and well fun enough to be able to stand on its own from Team Fortress 2. TF2 is brilliant, but that doesn't mean quality competition should be overlooked. And besides, it's not like Valve is providing support for console TF2 to provide this with their direct competition anyways.

You'd rather watch I, Robot than La jetee, The Matrix, Akira, or Dark City?
